Team USA Reveals Star-Studded Lineup for 2024 Paris Olympics Men's Basketball Team

USA Basketball has revealed the player roster for the men's team participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics. After some top US players opted out of the Tokyo Olympics due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the upcoming "Dream Team" for 2024 will showcase a lineup full of future hall of famers and talented young basketball stars.

A choreographed event in the birthplace of the ancient Olympics lit the flame for Paris 2024. The team will be led by LeBron James, forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, who is making his fourth appearance after missing the last two Olympics.

James, aged 39, has won two gold medals (2008, 2012) and a bronze (2004) in the past.

Joining James in the upcoming event are his Lakers teammate Anthony Davis, Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker from the Phoenix Suns, Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday from the Boston Celtics, Anthony Edwards from the Minnesota Timberwolves, Kawhi Leonard from the Los Angeles Clippers, Tyrese Haliburton from the Indiana Pacers, and Bam Adebayo from the Miami Heat.

This will be Steph Curry's first time competing in the Olympic Games. He will be the fifth player from the Warriors to join Team USA at the Olympics.

Joel Embiid, the NBA MVP from the Philadelphia 76ers, will also be making his Olympic debut representing the US team.

Embiid could have chosen to play for his native Cameroon or France.

The head coach for the team will be Steve Kerr from Golden State, replacing Gregg Popovich who guided Team USA to victory in the Tokyo Games.

In July, the US team will have a training camp and play exhibition games in Las Vegas before heading to Paris.

The Opening Ceremony for the 2024 Paris Olympics will take place on July 26 with men’s basketball play beginning the following day.
