Sydney Sweeney achieved a long-held dream recently. During an interview with Who What Wear on Wednesday, March 27, the 26-year-old actress shared that she was able to pay off her mom's mortgage. As a child, she always wished to be able to take care of her parents, so this was a significant milestone for her.
The Anyone But You shared that despite her parents' divorce, she is grateful for maintaining a strong relationship with her family while working in the entertainment industry. She believes that her family has been a grounding force for her, helping her navigate the highs and lows of fame.
The Emmy-nominated actress mentioned that she tries to involve her family in her life as much as possible. This includes staying in touch with her cousins regularly and visiting her hometown. She acknowledged the differences between Los Angeles and Spokane, highlighting the challenges of living in a big city compared to a small town.
Despite her busy schedule, Sweeney always makes time to visit her grandma or enjoy outdoor activities in her hometown when she has a day off from filming.
Living far from her family, Sweeney finds it challenging not having her parents nearby to celebrate her achievements with.
“My quote, unquote success didn’t come until I was in my 20s, so my parents didn’t really get to [experience it with me],” she explained.

Sydney Sweeney shared about the sacrifices her parents made to support her acting career last year. She also revealed that she sometimes questions if this contributed to her parents' decision to ultimately separate.
"My parents made a lot of sacrifices to help me chase my dream, and they went through a lot because of it," she told Variety in August 2023. "I just wanted to prove to them that it was all worth it."
She also mentioned, "I'll never really know if it had anything to do with their divorce. As the oldest child, I feel like I have a duty. They might deny it or agree with it, depending on the situation. But I'll always carry that sense of responsibility. And that's okay."
Over the years, Sweeney has appeared in various TV shows and movies such as Sharp Objects and The Handmaid’s Tale in 2018, and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood in 2019. However, her big break came in 2019 when she landed the role of Cassie Howard in HBO Max’s Euphoria.
While details about the third season of Euphoria, including a release date, are still limited, Sweeney hinted to Who What Wear that filming for the new season will start "relatively soon." She mentioned that she wasn't overly concerned about any potential delays in filming impacting the show's timeline.
“I actually like it because there’s so much room for growth for both me as a person and also Cassie as a character,” she stated.
