Suki Waterhouse, 32, recently welcomed her first child with Robert Pattinson. But that's not the only thing she's delivering this year. Just weeks after giving birth, the Daisy Jones and the Six star surprised fans on April 11 by releasing "two new songs from the next album," as she shared on X. The songs, "My Fun" and "Faded," offer a mix of sunny rock and cloudy Bedroom Pop vibes.

The songs have completely different vibes. "My Fun" is all about celebrating love, drawing inspiration from Mungo Jerry’s “In the Summertime” with a cool vibe. The lyrics express the joy of finding someone who truly understands you. Singing "Wow, you're so beautiful/ I was left speechless/ You picked me up/ And kissed me passionately," she goes on to say, "It's amazing to find someone who loves me as much as I love having fun."

Suki Waterhouse, captured by Erika Goldring/FilmMagic, is the artist behind the song "Faded". In this song, she sings about a fading romance as the sun sets. The indie-pop background sets the mood as Waterhouse sadly reflects on the changes in her relationship with her unnamed lover. She sings about how he shouldn't have changed and faded away, reminiscing about the simple and colorful moments they used to share. The lyrics express her feelings of nostalgia and loss as she remembers the days that have faded away.

Waterhouse released her second single of 2024 titled "My Fun" followed by "Faded," her third single. Earlier in the year, she dropped "OMG" along with a music video inspired by Edith Piaf, where she roamed a greenhouse that surprisingly belonged to Diplo.

In an interview with Rolling Stone in January, Waterhouse shared the process behind creating her music. She mentioned how they initially paused halfway through working on a song, feeling like it wasn't coming together. However, after a break and returning to the studio, a burst of energy led to the creation of a chorus that brought the song to life. She described the feeling of putting a song together as being in an anxious state, always on the brink of a breakthrough.

Waterhouse’s upcoming album features a trio of songs. Although the actress has not disclosed the album’s title, she has confirmed that it will be available for release in 2024. This album will mark Waterhouse’s second release following her debut album, I Can’t Let Go, which gained popularity in 2022.

Waterhouse is set to perform at Coachella this month, where she may drop hints about her project. She will be taking the stage on April 12 and 19, marking her first major performances since becoming a parent with Pattinson, 37. The couple was seen out with a stroller in late March, suggesting the arrival of their new baby. On April 4, Waterhouse posted the first photo of their "angel."

Following the baby photo, Waterhouse opened up about her postpartum experience, describing it as a mix of joy, laughter, tears, and hormones. She expressed pride in her body's accomplishments and the self-care she has shown herself during the recovery period.

Editor's P/S:

Suki Waterhouse's recent musical releases, "My Fun" and "Faded," showcase her versatility as an artist. "My Fun" is an upbeat, love-filled anthem that exudes positivity and celebrates the joy of finding a soulmate. In contrast, "Faded" is a melancholic indie-pop ballad that explores the loss and fading away of a romance. Waterhouse's ability to capture both the highs and lows of human emotion through her music is truly impressive.

Waterhouse's upcoming album, slated for release in 2024, is highly anticipated. With her unique blend of sunny rock and cloudy bedroom pop vibes, she has created a sound that is both fresh and relatable. Her willingness to share her personal experiences through her music adds depth and authenticity to her work. As she prepares to perform at Coachella, fans can expect to hear more about her upcoming project and witness her undeniable talent firsthand.
