The article reveals new details about the DCEU mythology, connecting characters like Enchantress and Incubus to Apokolips.

The concept art for Suicide Squad reveals original villain designs that bear resemblance to characters seen in Zack Snyder's Justice League. David Ayer validates fan theories by confirming that Enchantress is an alien invader and may have ties to Apokolips, much like Zeus and Ares potentially being Kryptonian.

Further information has come to light regarding the Snyderverse and its equivalent in the DCEU, following the sudden end of the franchise. Suicide Squad director David Ayer supports Zack Snyder's previous claims that reveal the truth behind the mythology of the DCEU. Jay Oliva recently shared details about the intended adaptation of Flashpoint in the DCEU, which revealed the hidden antagonist of the Snyderverse and was meant to reboot the franchise. Fans had already suspected this to be the case, thanks to subtle hints in Batman v Superman, and a popular fan theory connecting Suicide Squad to Zack Snyder's Justice League is now confirmed. However, the concept art not only offers an exciting glimpse into the original plan for setting up Justice League in Suicide Squad, but also uncovers the foundation of DC mythology.

During the Q&A session of Snyder's Full Circle event, a fan brought up the open pod from the Kryptonian scout ship in Man of Steel, which was hinted by the director to have been used by Supergirl, and asked if Snyder had plans to include her in the franchise. One of Snyder's colleagues interjected, saying, "tell the real story that caused a stir at the studio back then," prompting Snyder to reveal that Ares was actually responsible for the ship crashing on Earth, and that Zeus and Ares were originally intended to be Kryptonian, thus partially explaining Wonder Woman's powers. Ayer further elaborates on this idea by connecting Enchantress and her brother Incubus to Apokolips in his plans.

Concept art showcasing the original designs of Enchantress and Incubus reveals their resemblance to Apokolips characters Desaad and Steppenwolf, as seen in concept art for Zack Snyder's Justice League. Ayer confirms that Enchantress is an ancient alien, while also confirming a fan theory suggesting that she has ties to Apokolips, potentially as a descendant. This aligns with the earlier idea that Zeus and Ares could be Kryptonian. According to Snyder at Full Circle, this concept was meant to provide a scientific explanation for the DCEU, rather than relying solely on magic as a cornerstone of its mythology. Although Ayer acknowledges that the Kryptonian concept was abandoned, it may not be too far-fetched considering that Kryptonians can be seen as descendants of the Old Gods in a certain sense.

While the franchise undergoes a reboot, there are still opportunities to revisit the original idea following the DCEU. There is optimism that Ayer's cut of Suicide Squad will be released, particularly if Gunn has any say in the matter. It is hoped that Ayer will be given the chance for additional photography or a VFX budget, similar to Snyder's treatment in Zack Snyder's Justice League. This would allow for changes to be made to the designs of Enchantress and Incubus in order to align them with the original concept art that establishes a connection between the villains of Suicide Squad and Apokolips. This is especially significant as, in the initial concept of Suicide Squad, Enchantress was controlled by a Mother Box with the intention of opening a portal to Apokolips. Suicide Squad can currently be accessed through MAX.
