Street Fighter 6 is expanding its roster by adding Rashid, the beloved hero from Street Fighter 5. Released in June, the latest installment of Capcom's iconic 2D fighting series has received widespread praise and impressive sales numbers, demonstrating the sustained popularity of Street Fighter. Street Fighter 6 introduces exciting new features such as the immersive World Tour story mode, live commentary during matches, and a user-friendly Modern control scheme that simplifies the execution of iconic special moves, making it accessible to newcomers.

Street Fighter 6 boasts an impressive lineup of diverse characters, both returning favorites and new World Warriors. The base game includes 18 skilled martial artists, with Capcom confirming the release of four additional Street Fighter 6 characters as DLC. The first of these new challengers is Rashid of the Turbulent Wind, whose unique wind-manipulation powers and parkour fighting style were showcased in his Street Fighter 6 gameplay trailer released in early July.

The anticipation for Rashid's arrival in Street Fighter 6 has come to an end, as he is now available for purchase either as a standalone character or as part of the game's Year 1 character pass. Capcom's recent press statement reveals that Rashid comes with his own storyline in World Tour mode, a similar plotline in the classic Arcade mode, and two new avatar outfits with "Pirate" and "Resort" themes, which can be unlocked in the Hub Goods Shop. Furthermore, Rashid is eligible to be used in the upcoming Evolution Championship Series 2023 event, taking place from August 4 to 6.

Originating from Saudi Arabia, Rashid's quest began when he embarked on a journey to locate a kidnapped friend, taken by the nefarious Shadaloo organization. Rashid's inclusion as a post-launch character in Street Fighter 6 has sparked some humorous anticipation among players regarding upcoming online battles against him. The much-awaited day has arrived, and Rashid is now officially part of the game as its 19th playable fighter. Additionally, the previously revealed A.K.I., Ed, and Akuma are scheduled to join him later this year as part of Street Fighter 6's Year 1 character pass.
