Having recently welcomed her son Messer, Stassi Schroeder made a triumphant return to her podcast, where she eagerly shared her thoughts on the contrasting aspects of her newborn's arrival compared to that of his sister.
Schroeder, aged 35, worked for approximately eight hours at home before heading to the hospital to give birth to her daughter, Hartford, who is now 2 years old, in January 2021. However, this time around, things progressed much more rapidly. As soon as she started experiencing contractions, the pain became so intense that she immediately recognized it as "the real thing."
Schroeder's doula arrived to provide guidance through the pain, but the exercises turned out to be more challenging than she had anticipated. "She had me balancing in a handstand position off the edge of my bed," Schroeder humorously shared during the October 4th episode of "Straight Up With Stassi," remarking that she felt like she was on the verge of either death or vomiting.
Hartford, on the other hand, showed no concern for her mother's distress. Schroeder shared, "When Hartford walked in, she didn't give a damn that I was screaming in pain. It was apparent to me that my child had no empathy towards my suffering. She seemed annoyed by my pain and what I was going through. She went upstairs and casually watched Cinder-f**kin-rella."
Moving onto a more serious note, Schroeder reflected on the perilous nature of childbirth both in the past and present, even with advances in medical practices. Her and her husband Beau Clark likened the situation to the graphic birth scenes depicted in HBO's House of the Dragon, which gained notoriety during its first season.
“If you were to transport me back in time, the intensity of agony I experienced would have convinced me that I belong to the group of individuals destined to meet their demise," Schroeder, 43, confided in Clark. "I would have pleaded with you, ‘Please, do everything in your power to save the baby. Convey my love to Hartford.’ That was the level of anguish I endured.”

Schroeder received an epidural upon reaching the hospital, which swiftly alleviated her discomfort. However, she initially believed that it would take some time for Messer to arrive. Contrary to her expectations, once she began pushing, Messer's arrival happened sooner than anticipated.
"The baby was delivered in less than 50 seconds," Schroeder disclosed, with Clark mentioning that she only had to exert one push. "I could have effortlessly given birth to this baby with laughter. ... He exited my vagina performing the Macarena dance. It was a joyous celebration, unlike anything I had ever experienced."
In March, Schroeder revealed her second pregnancy through Instagram. "Keeping secrets causes me anxiety," she expressed in her post. "To Baby #2, my affection for you has already grown immensely."

Several days later, she happily revealed the news that the couple was expecting a baby boy — and interestingly enough, she had already had a strong suspicion before then. "I had a strong intuition from the very beginning that we were going to have a boy," she shared during a March episode of the popular "The Good The Bad The Baby" podcast hosted by herself and Clark. "I had this intuitive feeling that just wouldn't go away. I can't really put it into words."
