Marvel's Spider-Man 2 update corrects the use of the incorrect Cuban flag in Miles Morales' home.

The latest update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 addresses various issues, including the fixing of bugs involving character model swapping and a bright logo on The Amazing 2 Suit. Additionally, an apology has been released by Insomniac for the incorrect inclusion of a Cuban flag instead of the Puerto Rican flag in the home of Miles Morales, much to the disappointment of Puerto Rican Spider-Man fans. The mistake has been rectified in the aforementioned patch.

In Miles Morales' Harlem residence, shared with his mother Rio Morales, there resides a significant painting in the hallway depicting a flag. However, since its inception, this painting has mistakenly depicted the Cuban flag. It is worth noting that the Cuban flag bears a striking resemblance in structure to the Puerto Rican flag, albeit with a distinct arrangement of colors. Unfortunately, this flag mix-up is not an isolated incident, as there were also banners showcasing the Cuban flag hung between buildings. Nevertheless, other aspects of Spider-Man 2 accurately showcase the Puerto Rican flag.

After a message was posted on Twitter by Insomniac Games, they expressed sincere apologies for the error, acknowledging the importance of accurate representation. They also pledged to improve in the future. The apology coincided with the release of a new patch for Spider-Man 2, updating the game to version 1.001.003. Notably, the main fix implemented in this patch corrects the portrayal of the Cuban flag by replacing it with the appropriate Puerto Rican flag.

In addition to the flag controversy, Thursday's Spider-Man 2 update also addressed a bug where character models, such as Miles Morales, were being replaced with a cube. Insomniac stated that this issue could occur after long play sessions but should no longer happen after the patch.

Furthermore, another bug involving the game's unlockable The Amazing 2 Suit, based on the suit from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 film, has been fixed. Previously, the suit's logo appeared overly bright and reflective, but this bug has now been resolved.
