Sonja Morgan has established a thriving career in both television and online platforms. The former Real Housewives of New York City shared exclusively with We that she earns over $30,000 a month on the popular video messaging platform and app, Cameo. "I've got around $38,000 right now," Sonja said on Thursday, December 14, while promoting The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy.
Cameo offers fans the opportunity to pay for personalized video messages from a wide range of celebrities. Sonja, a popular figure on the platform, has received an outstanding rating of 4.92 out of five stars. According to her costar Kristen Taekman, Sonja treats it as a full-time job. Sonja herself mentioned that all the Real Housewives stars are successful on Cameo, earning no less than $35 thousand a month.
Sonja charges fans $99 for custom videos, stating that she is able to do more and appreciates connecting with people. She has noticed an increase in requests for motivational videos due to the holiday season, as many people are feeling stressed and in need of encouragement. She acknowledges that the Christmas season can be difficult for many individuals.
Dorinda Medley, on her end, mentioned that she has also been receiving requests on Cameo for an inspirational chat, but doesn’t make as much money from the platform as Sonja does. “I would say it’s consistently about $20, $22 [thousand],” she told Us. “But I don’t really promote [it].”
Sonja Morgan, along with Dorinda, 59, and Kristen, 46, is currently featured on Peacock's RHUGT: RHONY Legacy. This series follows former RHONY cast members as they come together for a glamorous and drama-filled getaway to St. Barts. The show also includes Killoren Bensimon and Luann de Lesseps, who Morgan recently collaborated with for Peacock's Welcome to Crappie Lake earlier this year.
The reality series, which debuted in July, documented Sonja and Luann, both 58, visiting Benton, Illinois, to aid in the town's revival. "I don’t think they knew what to expect, but Sonja and I both grew up in small towns, so our lives have changed, sure, but we still are small-town girls at heart, so we really fell in love with them," Luann told Page Six in October. "We left a lasting and good impression, I hope."
She also teased the possibility of a second season, sharing, “There’s talk about a next season, so we’ll see where they go.”
