Smite 2 Unveiled, Set to Coexist with Its Predecessor

Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel, revolutionizes the free-to-play gaming experience with its complete overhaul Prepare for a thrilling new chapter as this ground-breaking reimagining runs alongside the original game

Smite 2 is bringing a major makeover to the action MOBA's pantheon, featuring upgraded visuals and revamped Gods. Developed from scratch in Unreal Engine 5, the sequel boasts a sleeker user interface and clearer spell effects for a better gameplay experience. Notably, each God's abilities have undergone changes, introducing new physics-based powers for certain Gods like Ymir. To add more depth, the game introduces two power sources, Strength and Intelligence, to differentiate each God's abilities. While the game may initially seem familiar, there are significant improvements and updates to enhance the overall experience.

Smite 2 has transitioned to a new backend, allowing for cross-play, enhanced matchmaking, and a revamped ranking system. The Relic and Items systems have been completely reworked to be more user-friendly for newcomers.

Players who have invested heavily in the original game will find that much of their progress will carry over to the sequel. Gems spent in Smite 1 will be converted into Legacy Gems in Smite 2 for use in making new purchases. Additionally, Smite 2 will feature cross-generation skins that are compatible with both games.

The original Smite servers will continue to be active once the sequel is launched. This suggests that the game will not receive further content updates, although there has been no official confirmation yet.

You can add Smite 2 to your wishlist on Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It is unclear whether there will also be an option to sign up for alpha test access on the official Smite 2 website. As of now, no release date has been announced.

Editor's P/S

As a passionate fan of the original Smite, I am both excited and apprehensive about the upcoming Smite 2. On the one hand, the promise of a complete overhaul with upgraded visuals, revamped Gods, and a new backend is incredibly enticing. The prospect of cross-play, enhanced matchmaking, and a revamped ranking system is also very appealing. On the other hand, I am concerned about how much of my progress from the original game will carry over and whether the new game will feel too different from the one I have come to love.

Overall, I am cautiously optimistic about Smite 2. I believe it has the potential to be a great game, but I hope that it will retain the core elements that made the original Smite so successful. I am eager to learn more about the game and to see how it develops in the coming months.
