Shocking Twist: Bachelor Clayton Echard's Paternity Countersuit in Jeopardy, Lawyer Reveals Startling Details

Former Bachelor contestant, Clayton Echard, faces paternity allegations as his former fling claims he fathered her unborn twins Find out the latest on this controversial case

Clayton Echard has been sued by a pregnant woman with whom he had a casual relationship, alleging that he is the father of her unborn children. However, it may be challenging for him to file a countersuit.

According to attorney Neama Rahmani, who is not involved in the case, anyone can file a lawsuit, but the case may not hold up if there are no substantial damages. When asked about Echard's chances of seeking damages if he is not the biological father, Rahmani emphasized the importance of a paternity test.

He stated, "If there is a reasonable belief that he could be the father and the request for a paternity test is not completely unfounded or intended to embarrass him, she believed there was a strong possibility that he is the father. She genuinely had a valid reason for asking the judge to order the paternity test. It is unlikely that any judge would allow a countersuit of that nature to proceed."

In August, the former Bachelor was named as a defendant in a lawsuit alleging that he impregnated the petitioner following a one-night stand. Before her twin babies were due in February, the woman, who is 33 years old, requested that Echard undergo a paternity test. Echard has denied any sexual intercourse or relationship with the woman, stating to The Sun earlier this month that the accusations are without basis and lack credibility.

The woman, who filed the lawsuit under a pseudonym, also claimed that Echard had refused to provide a sample for genetic testing.

According to Rahmani, a court has the authority to compel someone to undergo a paternity test, which involves a DNA analysis. Typically, this is done by using a cotton swab to collect a sample if there is credible evidence of sexual contact. However, if Clayton denies any knowledge of or involvement with the woman, he may not be required to take the test. But if there is evidence of their relationship or if Clayton does not dispute it, he will be compelled by the court to undergo the paternity test, as it is a routine practice for judges to order such tests.

Echard has expressed his willingness to undergo a paternity test before the court hearing between the parties.

"This is the timeline. The truth shall always grant you freedom," he stated on September 21 via Instagram Story, accompanied by a screenshot of an email receipt from a DNA testing company.

In the email, Echard received a receipt for the $725 test, stating his intention to take it on Wednesday, September 27. It was mentioned that the results would take a week to process, and his former partner would then take "her portion" of the test on Monday, October 2.
