Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth's divorce settlement details have been unveiled, just one day following the formal termination of their marriage. Per documents acquired by We on Thursday, August 3, the couple will be granted joint custody of their 10-year-old son, Tennessee.
The parents have agreed to split their son's expenses equally, without having to pay child support or spousal support, as they both earn more than $100,000 per year. Additionally, Toth and Witherspoon, who share two other children together, have requested to skip the parenting seminar as they have successfully been co-parenting their son since they filed for divorce in March, after being married for almost 12 years.
With regards to the distribution of personal possessions, both Witherspoon and Toth have allocated their furniture, artwork, and other household items. They will each retain ownership of their respective cars and bank accounts, while all their properties have been divided according to different trusts. Furthermore, an NDA is in place to maintain the confidentiality of their private personal and business matters.
The couple publicly announced their separation in March through a joint statement on Instagram. "We have an important update to share... After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to end our marriage. We have cherished numerous wonderful years together and are now moving forward with profound love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have accomplished as a couple."
"Our main focus is our son and the well-being of our entire family during this transitional phase. Dealing with these issues is always challenging and deeply personal. We sincerely value the respect for our family's privacy during this time."
In July, Witherspoon candidly discussed her separation from Toth and how she was navigating through this delicate period.
"To me, there is a certain authenticity in being able to communicate with people directly about the happenings in my life. Just like sharing remarkable professional or personal experiences, expressing myself in my own words allows me to maintain control and not let someone else dictate the narrative," she expressed during an interview with Harper's Bazaar. "Of course, there will always be speculation, but I have no power to influence that. All I can do is be genuine, open, and vulnerable. These are challenging times for me."
