Shocking Revelation: Paul Pogba Faces Suspension for Unexpected Anti-Doping Offense

Juventus midfielder Pogba, formerly of Manchester United, faces provisional suspension due to an anti-doping violation Having rejoined Juventus last summer, the 30-year-old has featured in eight Serie A matches for the club

Paul Pogba, the midfielder for Juventus, has been provisionally suspended by Italy's national anti-doping tribunal due to an anti-doping offense. A test conducted after Juventus' triumph over Udinese on August 20 revealed higher than normal levels of testosterone, a hormone known to enhance athletes' endurance.

Nado Italia, the anti-doping agency, has announced the immediate provisional suspension of Pogba. The suspension will remain in effect pending a trial and testing of a backup "B" sample, with a potential suspension of up to four years looming.

This latest development adds to the string of setbacks for the player, who has been plagued by injuries since his return to Juventus from Manchester United just over a year ago. Pogba's knee injury prevented him from participating in France's journey to the World Cup final last year.

Pogba has been under investigation by the police in France for alleged targeting by extortionists, including his older brother Mathias, who has denied any involvement.

This incident further adds to the challenges faced by Juventus due to ongoing legal inquiries related to false accounting and irregular salary payment reporting. As a consequence, UEFA has barred the Turin club from participating in European competitions this season.

Pogba and Juventus had no immediate comment.
