Miranda Lambert sparked controversy when she reprimanded a concertgoer for taking a selfie during her performance. The fan, Adela Calin, is now sharing her side of the story. In an interview with NBC News, Calin expressed feeling like a scolded student and being made to feel immature and vain. However, she clarified that the group of women taking the selfie were actually mature adults ranging from their 30s to 60s.

Calin stated that she only took a "maximum of 30 seconds" to capture a photo with her friends, who swiftly took the picture and were about to resume their seats when Lambert, aged 39, spotted them.

Feeling disappointed, Calin mentioned that they were thrilled as they believed they had secured the best seats in the entire theater. She expressed her shock and disapproval towards Lambert's remarks.

During her Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas residency show on Saturday, July 15, Lambert garnered significant attention when she halted her performance of "Tin Man" to address Calin and her companions. In a now viral video, Lambert expressed her frustration with the group's apparent disregard for her music, as they seemed more interested in capturing selfies. Lambert's remarks, shared on TikTok after the show, conveyed her annoyance and discontent with the situation.

Lambert exclaimed, "We've come here tonight to enjoy some authentic country music. I'll be gracing you with my damn country tunes," gesturing for Calin and her entourage to take their seats.

However, it seems that the fans were far from delighted with the spectacle, prompting a few to even vacate their spots. As captured in the video, one attendee expressed their disapproval, stating, "Let's leave. Seriously, you can't treat fans like that."

Lambert's behavior generated a heated debate in the comments section. One user strongly expressed their opinion, stating, "People pay to go see you and if they want to capture the memories they are creating, it shouldn't be a problem!" The user emphasized that these individuals are loyal fans who have paid to attend the event.

Miranda Lambert took to the stage during the second day of CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee on June 9, 2023. In response, another TikTok user proposed an alternative approach, suggesting that she could have concluded her performance with a straightforward message encouraging the audience to remain present and refrain from using their phones.

Calin, however, seemed unfazed by the incident. As she shared the concert photos on Instagram, she playfully captioned them with, "These are the pictures we took when Miranda Lambert paused her concert and told us to sit down and refrain from taking selfies."

"Tin Man" remains one of Lambert's most emotionally charged songs. She wrote it in the aftermath of her divorce from ex-husband Blake Shelton in 2015, after being married to him for four years. Lambert has since moved on with Brendan McLoughlin, whom she married in 2019, while Shelton, who is now 47, tied the knot with Gwen Stefani in 2021.

Lambert's reps were contacted for comment.
