Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez's marriage has officially ended with their divorce being finalized in less than three months since their separation.
According to documents obtained by We, Grande, 30, and Gomez, 28, reached a settlement on October 6th. As per their prenuptial agreement, Gomez will receive a tax-free sum of $1,250,000 and half of the net proceeds from the sale of their Los Angeles home, as reported by TMZ. Additionally, Grande will cover up to $25,000 of Gomez's attorney fees. No spousal support will be provided.
The singer and the realtor made their relationship public in February 2020 and discreetly got married in May 2021. In July, it was confirmed that the couple had split. According to a source, Ariana and Dalton had been facing problems for several months, even before Ariana left for filming in London. The distance between them only exacerbated the situation, leading to a lack of communication. Two months later, Grande officially filed for divorce, stating their separation date as February 20th.
According to a source, Gomez expressed a desire to reconcile with Grande after their breakup, but it was already too late as she had moved on with her Wicked costar, Ethan Slater. In July, an insider revealed that Slater's estranged wife, Lilly Jay, was taken by surprise when their marriage ended. However, another source claimed that Grande and Slater were already separated from their respective spouses when they began dating.
Shortly after the public learned about Slater's relationship with Grande, he initiated divorce proceedings with Jay, whom he married in 2018 and with whom he had a child in 2022. Jay, in response, criticized Grande and stated, "She is the real story, not someone who supports other women. My family is merely collateral damage."
Despite the ongoing drama, an insider disclosed that Grande had been advised to slow down and not go public with her relationship with Slater so soon. In August, a source informed Us that she is conscious of how her fans perceive her and is attempting to handle the situation maturely. However, given the choice, she would prefer to be seen with him immediately.
On the other hand, Gomez never anticipated experiencing his divorce in the public eye. Nevertheless, he is managing to cope with the support of his loved ones. As stated by a source in August, it has been some time since Ariana and Dalton broke up, and he is gradually adjusting to his new reality and learning to accept it. The outcome is certainly not what he had predicted, as he had believed they would be together forever.
The following month, Grande was spotted on a date with Slater at Disneyland as an insider revealed that the two “are really happy.”
