Shocking Betrayal: Grace Van Dien Opens Up About Unexpected Allegations in ‘What Comes Around’

In the upcoming movie What Comes Around, Grace Van Dien's character, Anna, becomes entangled in a toxic relationship when she discovers that her online boyfriend is significantly older than she thought. In a We exclusive clip from the film, set to release on Friday, August 4th, Anna receives an unexpected birthday surprise when Eric (played by Kyle Gallner), whom she has never met face-to-face, shows up at her doorstep.

“I’m a bit disoriented. I have no idea of my whereabouts. Let me orient the camera in the opposite direction. How do you perceive this?” Eric inquires, displaying his location to Anna.

Anna responded by ending the call and expressing her concerns about Eric's behavior through a text message, stating, "Are you aware of how inappropriate and forceful this is?"

Eric immediately called back to apologize, acknowledging his error. "I apologize. I mistakenly believed that it was a grand gesture. A foolish grand gesture," he admitted. "I have a present for you, and I will leave it on the porch."

The movie, What Comes Around, examines Anna's relationship with her mother Beth (played by Summer Phoenix) once she begins dating Eric. This coming-of-age film delves into issues like toxic online culture, intricate family dynamics, and grooming.

Van Dien, 26, recently shared her experience working alongside Gallner, 36, in portraying the complex romantic connection between Anna and Eric.

Kyle is truly an angel. I'm constantly on the lookout for his next project. For instance, I recently attempted to watch Smile because I heard he had a role in it. However, I must admit that I could only handle about five minutes of the movie before it became too scary for me," she amusingly shared with Us. "Yet, one thing remains certain: Kyle is the epitome of kindness. He always ensures that everything is alright and our communication is impeccable. I can't fathom how we managed to find such an incredible cast."

Director Amy Redford praised Gallner's dedication to the project and the shared desire among the team to bring compassion to their characters. This commitment led them to do thorough research and carry hidden knowledge with them. Redford also emphasized Gallner's ability to be a great listener on screen, thanks to his awareness of the people around him. She acknowledged that there were moments where she had to step back and let him shine, as he brought new and exciting elements to the table.
