As the team's most enduring female player and recently appointed vice-captain, her demise on Wednesday has left a profound void.
The club plans to honor Cusack, who previously worked in the club's marketing department, at Sunday's Premier League game against Newcastle. Additionally, Burnley and Nottingham Forest, her former clubs, have decided to reschedule their women's games this weekend. Cusack's image will be featured on the front cover of the club program, and players will wear black armbands. Additionally, we are currently discussing other appropriate ways to honor Maddy's memory.
"We are currently making plans and engaging in discussions for a tribute, and it is crucial for us to maintain a high level of respect towards Maddy's family. We aim to include them extensively and ensure their complete understanding of our intentions," Heckingbottom emphasized.

The Football Association has expressed its condolences following Cusack's death. A formal tribute for the former England U19 international is scheduled to take place at a future date. Baroness Campbell, speaking on behalf of the FA, the Lionesses, the Women's Super League, and the Women's Championship, extended thoughts and heartfelt condolences to Maddy's family, friends, teammates, and all those at Sheffield United.
