Selling Sunset’s Mary Bonnet finds the ongoing feud between her costars Nicole Young and Chrishell Stause to be “frustrating.”

During an episode of Jana Kramer's "Whine Down" podcast on Monday, November 13, Bonnet, 43, described Nicole as a highly stubborn woman. Mary acknowledged that stubbornness can have positive aspects, highlighting her husband Romain Bonnet as an example of a very stubborn man. Despite these qualities, Young's stubbornness did not contribute to reconciling with Stause, 42, on the seventh season of Selling Sunset which premiered on Netflix on November 3. Mary expressed her frustration, advising Young to let go and stop further worsening the situation by defending herself. Young's actions are likely prompted by a sense of needing to protect her true self due to the intense criticism she has faced.

Since joining the show in season 6, Young, who is 53 years old, has had a strained relationship with Stause. Young accused Stause, a former soap actress, of receiving special treatment and being given specific real estate listings because of her involvement with their boss, Jason Oppenheim. Stause and Oppenheim, aged 46, made their relationship public in July 2021 but ended it in December of the same year. Both have moved on with new partners. Oppenheim started dating Marie-Lou Nurk in July 2022, while Stause married her partner, G Flip, in May 2023.

The tensions between the two spilled over into season 7, leading to a confrontation at Chelsea Lazkani's birthday party. Stause lashed out at Young, saying, "I make more money in five minutes than you could ever make in five years. You've completely transformed your appearance. You've had everything done." Stause also criticized Young for being unable to handle criticism, after Young had referred to their coworkers as "f—king mean girls."

Mary believes that Young's defensiveness stems from her strong attachment to real estate. In Mary's opinion, Young takes great pride in her abilities and accomplishments in the industry. However, Mary emphasizes that Young is also a down-to-earth and sociable person. Mary frequently visits Young's house where they spend time together, relaxing by the pool and engaging in hours of conversation while enjoying the hot tub.

Mary believes that Young can be labeled as an "extremist." She has been straightforward with Young about this, expressing her sincere efforts to be a supportive friend and advising Young that holding onto the situation is not beneficial. Mary clarifies that the actions taken by Jason are to blame for the issue, not Chrishell. Mary urges Young to let go and move on, emphasizing that dwelling on it is unnecessary and unproductive. Instead, Mary advises Young to focus on her current clients and leave Chrishell alone.

Despite the strained relationship between Stause and Young, Mary acknowledges that Stause has made attempts to move forward and coexist with Young, even though she sees Young as having no presence in her life. Mary further states that while Stause has apologized, Nicole has not, even though she claims to want to. Mary encourages Nicole to simply apologize, highlighting that the scenario does not have to be ideal, just genuine.

Last month, Stause expressed to We that she firmly believes she could have handled the turmoil with Young in a more effective manner. However, she acknowledged that if she is consistently placed in those circumstances and faced with heightened tension, it is likely that a similar situation may arise once more.
