Savannah Chrisley became emotional as she bid farewell to her niece, Chloe, on her first day of school.

"Our beloved Coco has entered 5th grade! I am overjoyed as we explored her new school yesterday, tears streaming down my face," Savannah, 25, shared on Instagram on Wednesday, August 9. "Chloe has experienced significant changes, but she has also made incredible progress during this journey. I am incredibly grateful that she is in an environment that fosters growth, love, and acceptance!"

Savannah shared two photos from the special day. In one, she and the 10-year-old posed in front of lockers, with Savannah wearing a denim jacket and black jeans, while Chloe looked effortlessly stylish in a white dress adorned with blue flowers. The second image showed Chloe proudly wearing her school uniform and matching Converse sneakers.

In November 2022, Savannah revealed that she had gained custody of her younger brother Grayson and her half-brother Kyle's daughter, Chloe. This came amid legal troubles for their parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley. In June 2022, both Todd and Julie were found guilty of 12 counts of tax evasion, bank and wire fraud, and conspiracy. Todd began serving his 12-year sentence in Florida in January, while Julie reported to prison in Kentucky for her seven-year sentence. Todd also has a son, Chase, 26, with Julie, as well as children Lindsie, 33, and Kyle, 31, with his ex-wife Teresa Terry.

After Savannah celebrated Chloe's return to school on social media, fans commended her for her dedication as a big sister and aunt. Numerous comments praised her, with one person mentioning how well she is doing and expressing hopes that Chloe remains happy. Additionally, they mentioned the challenges of fifth grade, particularly the increasing focus on math, and encouraged Savannah to enhance her skills in the subject.

Another fan expressed their pride in Savannah, stating, "I am incredibly proud of you, Savannah. The way you are handling Chloe and Grayson is truly amazing. I firmly believe that it is God who guides us through difficult times like this. He turns our pain into something beautiful. Wishing you an incredible 5th grade year!"

Taking on the responsibility of Grayson and Chloe, Savannah has frequently spoken openly about the changes she has experienced. On her podcast "Unlocked With Savannah Chrisley," she shared, "I feel like I can't move forward in my life. I can't make plans for marriage or having my own children until I know they're secure." In May, she reflected on how her newfound custody has reshaped her outlook on her own personal journey.

In my current stage of grief, I find myself consumed by anger. I feel this anger towards everything and everyone. Additionally, taking on the responsibility of caring for these kids has caused me to question whether or not I actually want children. Observing the impact that this situation has had on our lives has raised doubts in my mind. It's important to note that my concerns stem from a place of anger, as my parents are currently serving prison sentences.

I want to clarify that I do not want my words to be misconstrued. I absolutely adore these two kids and love them more than anything in the world. We have a great time together and I strive to be a positive adult presence in their lives. However, being 25 years old and suddenly becoming the caretaker of two children is incredibly challenging. It's difficult to navigate what is truly best for them, especially when I haven't had the opportunity to gradually grow into this role. I feel like I've been thrown into the deep end without warning.
