2022 is all about bows, a trend that has received the Sarah Jessica Parker seal of approval. The actress's shoe brand, named after her, recently released a line of bows designed after the stunning hairpiece she wore to the New York City Ballet Gala on October 5th.
That evening, Parker paired the black accessory, perched on the ponytail of her half-up-half-down hairstyle, with a tulle off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera gown and mismatched heels from Parker’s own footwear line. The differing heels brought to mind the occasion when Parker’s Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw, sported two different Christian Louboutin shoes in season 3.
Explaining via Instagram, Parker expressed her determination to make the bow style accessible to her fans after receiving an abundance of praise for it.
“The bow that started it all,” Parker wrote alongside a slideshow of photos of herself wearing the black bow as well as others from her new line. “When I saw how madly in love everyone was with this bow (as was I), a last minute detail thrown together by me and @sergenormant just minutes before leaving for the annual @nycballet Fall Gala, I immediately set out on a mission: searching for and sourcing the finest grosgrain, taffeta, and satin ribbons. In many cases, the vintage I was hoping still existed and could unearth.”
Sarah Jessica Parker, in an interview with Cindy Ord/Getty Images, revealed that she has been searching through the "hidden corners" of New York City to discover "unique" and "interesting places" that have led her to some "truly special and incredibly beautiful" bows.
"Allow me to introduce you to the @sjpcollection Gala Bow," Parker announced. "I personally selected every ribbon, some of which are nearly 100 years old! I am truly proud of the collection I have crafted."
