Salma Hayek, who is 57 years old, recently shared a beauty tip on Instagram. She showed her followers a quick way to cover up gray hairs using mascara. Hayek playfully revealed her secret by applying mascara to her white hairs, saying, “When I’m on my own, I just put mascara [on it].” She asked her fans for their thoughts on how to cover gray hairs without dyeing them.

Hayek then showed how she uses mascara on her hair to keep rebellious strands in place. She mentioned that the mascara not only darkens the hair but also helps in keeping it flat.

If using mascara on your hair doesn't appeal to you, Hayek's hairstylist, Miguel Martin Perez, used a root cover up on her hair. Hayek jokingly compared it to applying makeup on the hair.

“We don’t gate keep hair tips here ,” she captioned the post, tagging Perez.

The rest of her glam featured filled-in eyebrows, brown eyeshadow, a warm contour winged eyeliner, long lashes and glossy lips.

Hayek doesn’t always hide her gray hairs, though. In June 2023, she posted a selfie on social media that displayed her "white hairs and wrinkles." Hayek chose to go without makeup in the close-up photo and looked directly into the camera. In the caption, she wrote, "Me waking up and counting how many white hairs and wrinkles have crashed the party this morning."

Hayek has expressed her positive feelings about aging, embracing her silver strands and gushing about the experience.

She shared with Glamour in February 2023, "I thought getting older meant I wasn’t going to work; I’m working. I thought getting older maybe meant that you’re not in love anymore; I’m in love. I don’t feel that I lost my flexibility or my agility or even my strength. I do have to say that I have found it beautiful, getting older with someone."

In 2006, Hayek found love with François-Henri Pinault. The next year, they had their daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault, who is now 16. They got married in 2009 at a courthouse in Paris on Valentine's Day. Shortly after, they celebrated their wedding with a glamorous party in Venice, Italy.
