Sabrina Carpenter has a big fan in Barry Keoghan.
According to a source who exclusively spoke to We, the couple started off slow but their relationship is going well. They both prefer to keep things casual and enjoy low-key activities in their free time. Sabrina appreciates that Barry is understanding of her busy work schedule and they are not rushing things.
Carpenter, who is 24, and Keoghan, 31, met at a Paris fashion event in 2023 and hit it off. They started spending more time together and decided to be exclusive in January.
Despite the distance, Carpenter and Keoghan have managed to make their relationship work. Keoghan, who is from Saltburn, has been supporting Carpenter as she performs as the opening act on Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour. He was seen cheering her on at several concerts in Singapore this month. Videos on social media show him smiling from the VIP tent during the show, and later greeting her backstage with a hug.
"Sabrina appreciates the effort he's been making to support her at her shows. It's a great opportunity for them to spend time together during this busy season," a source reveals. "He's a big fan of hers, and she finds it really cute."
Both Carpenter and Keoghan have chosen to keep their relationship private, even dodging questions about it in recent interviews. During an interview for Vanity Fair’s Hollywood issue last month, Keoghan was asked if he planned to bring Carpenter as his date to the Golden Globes in January. (He was nominated for his role in Saltburn, but ultimately lost the best leading actor award to Cillian Murphy from Oppenheimer.)
"Look, I read all of that and it also gets sent to me. But you have to take it with a grain of salt," Keoghan joked. "It's just the reaction to the movie that's stirring up a lot of discussion."
He added, "I usually avoid the internet because I want to focus on more calming activities. This could be boxing, playing PlayStation, taking a walk, or anything that helps me stay in the moment. It's easy to lose that when you're on a press tour. It's important to put your phone away and make time for yourself. Be kind to yourself."
Keoghan's most recent relationship was with Alyson Sandro, and they have a son named Brando.
On the other hand, Carpenter has been romantically linked to Bradley Steven Perry, Joshua Bassett, and Shawn Mendes in the past. Although she has kept quiet about her personal life, Carpenter has openly expressed her desire to find true love.
