Sabrina Carpenter is enjoying herself and keeping her fans intrigued about her romantic life, following the speculation of a romance with David Dobrik.

The mischievous message appeared to be a reference to Carpenter spending time with Dobrik on Friday, August 4, after her performance in Chicago. According to Page Six, Carpenter and Dobrik were seen at Tao Chicago late Friday night and into the early hours of Saturday, August 5.

During her off-the-cuff "Nonsense" outro on Friday, Carpenter playfully hinted at the type of men she finds appealing. "This song is catchier than chickenpox, I bet your house is where my missing sock is. Woke up this morning, thought I'd write a pop hit, ha-ha. How quickly can you undress? Pop quiz," she sang to the crowd before adding her own improvisation.

“Maybe I am a d—k connoisseur / City of breezes where I take it all / Now he refers to it as ‘giving him Chicago’,” Carpenter joked at the Lollapalooza Aftershow, while replacing the typical final verse.

During the main show on Friday, the former Girl Meets World star performed the final verse. Once again, she chose to omit the lines "That one's not gonna make / Most of these aren't gonna make" from the recorded version and instead replaced it with a NSFW line. In her outro, she passionately sang, "Turn that d--k to stone / Call me Medusa / Choking on him, need Heimlich maneuver / Sorry I don't date Lollapalooz-ers." This caused some fans to speculate that Carpenter's sassy Instagram post on Sunday was actually referring to her Lollapalooza performance.

Carpenter's love life became a topic of interest in the summer of 2020 when she was romantically linked to Joshua Bassett. The rumors about their relationship further intensified in January 2021 when Olivia Rodrigo, who many fans believed had a secret relationship with Bassett that ended when Carpenter came into the picture, released her chart-topping song "Driver's License."

At that time, fans speculated that Rodrigo, who is 20 years old, was referring to Carpenter when she sang the lyrics, "And you're

It was never confirmed if Rodrigo and Bassett, who are both 22 years old, were ever involved romantically. Carpenter, on the other hand, faced allegations of releasing a diss track called "Skin" about Rodrigo in January 2021.

In the track, Carpenter sings, "Perhaps we could have been friends if we had met in another life." Later on, she appears to reference Rodrigo's song with the lyrics, "Don't drive yourself insane." However, Carpenter took to Instagram to deny the rumors and praised Rodrigo's song "Driver's License" as a "magnificent" tune.

Carpenter was rumored to be dating Shawn Mendes in February when they were seen having dinner together in Los Angeles. They were later spotted leaving the Gucci store in Beverly Hills before attending Miley Cyrus' Endless Summer Vacation release party. When asked about their relationship, Mendes, 24, denied the rumors during an interview with Dutch TV program RTL Boulevard in March. He emphasized his focus on his partnership with Tommy Hilfiger instead.
