The Dynamic Between Sabine and Shin

Stunning new Star Wars fanart inspired by Ahsoka Disney+ TV show features Natasha Liu Bordizzo's Sabine Wren and Ivanna Sakhno's Shin Hati. Shin Hati and her master, Dark Jedi Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson) were introduced as antagonists in Ahsoka, but they quickly gained popularity due to their complexity and on-screen presence. In particular, the dynamic between Shin and Sabine as two apprentices, one light and one dark, ignited fan discourse and creativity.

Sabine Wren and Shin Hati Deserve a Friendship Arc

Star Wars has had its fair share of dark side and light side team-ups; Ahsoka Tano and Asajj Ventress working together in Star Wars: The Clone Wars when Ahsoka was on the run, Kylo Ren and Rey in Star Wars: The Last Jedi after Kylo decides to kill Snoke, and Ezra Bridger and Darth Maul in Star Wars Rebels. Sabine and Shin could build upon that tradition in the rumored Ahsoka season 2. The open-ended, even cliffhanger conclusion of the show's first season left much up to interpretation, and Shin's fate is one of many lingering questions.

It will be interesting to see how the Ahsoka series picks up the pieces after the loss of Stevenson as Baylan, but given that Thrawn is set to be the 'big bad' and Shin is conceivably now without a master, the door is open for Shin to see the error of her ways and join the light side team. Even if Shin remains on the dark side, though, she may have motivation to help take down Thrawn, in which case, Sabine and Shin could still team up and give Ahsoka fans a friendship between the duo, canonizing this stunning fan art.
