Harry Kane is nearing a £100m transfer to Bayern Munich, following a medical examination on Friday. The England captain is optimistic about making his debut for the club on Saturday.
Upon arriving in Germany on Friday evening, Kane underwent the initial phase of his medical assessment at Barmherzige Bruder hospital in west Munich.
The 30-year-old completed the second phase of his medical examination at Bayern's Sabener Strasse training center, indicating that the transfer is nearing its conclusion.
If Kane is officially registered before 2pm UK time on Saturday, he may potentially make his debut for Bayern in the German Super Cup against RB Leipzig, which will be broadcasted live. The match is scheduled to take place at the Allianz Arena.

At around 3pm on Friday, Tottenham's leading goal scorer received notification of his approved transfer to Bayern. Consequently, he was granted permission to journey to Munich for his medical examination. Subsequently, Kane embarked on his flight at 4.50pm UK time and reached Oberpfaffenhofen airport, located just outside Munich, at 6.10pm UK time.
Tottenham and Bayern have reached a deal for Kane, with an initial fee of £86m and potential add-ons that would bring the total price to nearly £100m - making it a record fee for Bayern and the Bundesliga. Following the news of the agreement between the clubs on Thursday, Kane opted to accept Bayern's offer.
How Kane's day unfolded
Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel described the bid to sign Kane as the club's "highest priority" on Friday.
Tuchel further mentioned, "Our aim is to have the captain of the English national team leave England, depart from the Premier League. This statement encompasses the significance of our endeavor. We are currently engaged in a substantial negotiation, pursuing a prominent signature. However, we are still in the midst of the process."
During his press conference on Friday, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou also verified that Kane's transfer was "imminent."
Postecoglou continued, "On the first day of my arrival, I had an open and honest conversation with Harry. It was clear that he had already decided that if the clubs reached an agreement, he would be willing to leave."
Our supporters deserve to feel a sense of mourning and loss on a day like today, acknowledging the lack of success at the club. Despite this, he has been elevated to hero status in their eyes. Tottenham's season-opening Premier League game will be held at Brentford on Sunday, August 13, and will be broadcast live on We.

Kane's disappointing campaign for Spurs last season saw him scoring 30 goals in the Premier League. Unfortunately, their eighth-place finish meant missing out on European football, further adding to their woes as they have been without a trophy since 2008. Remarkably, Kane has accumulated an impressive record of 280 goals in 435 appearances for Spurs, with his first goal being scored in December 2011.
With 213 goals in 320 Premier League games, he is currently 48 goals off breaking Alan Shearer's record as the highest scorer in Premier League history.

Jamie Redknapp expressed sympathy for Ange Postecoglou, acknowledging the difficult position the coach is in as he tries to prepare his team for the upcoming season. With the start of the season just hours away, Postecoglou is faced with the departure of his star player. Redknapp believes it would have been more beneficial if the player's departure had been arranged earlier, giving Postecoglou ample time to adjust and plan accordingly.
It seems like Daniel Levy, the one making these decisions, isn't prioritizing what's best for the team. When a new manager comes in, it's important to provide them with everything they need to have a strong chance of reentering the top four. While the deal may have brought in more money, that doesn't necessarily mean it's the right move for the team.

According to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg: "It's a devastating blow for the Spurs supporters, who will undoubtedly mourn the departure of their beloved champion just one day before the commencement of the season. Harry Kane's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled."Describing this transfer in words is a challenging task. It surpasses a regular transfer. Acquiring Harry Kane, the Premier League superstar and captain of the Three Lions, would represent a monumental statement for both Bayern Munich, Germany, and the Bundesliga.
Kane's objective is to secure the Champions League victory alongside Thomas Tuchel and Bayern Munich, rather than solely conquering the Bundesliga. The aspiration is to achieve the treble, and Kane's arrival would epitomize a transfer aimed at accomplishing such a remarkable feat.

Kane is bringing his Spurs career to an end
Bayern Munich executive board member Andreas Jung exclusively told We that the escalating costs in football can be attributed to the financial evolution of the sport. While acknowledging that paying such high amounts for players is unprecedented for Bayern Munich, Jung pointed out that other teams with investors do not face the same challenges in acquiring players for €100m. Thus, for Bayern Munich, this represents a unique circumstance.
Furthermore, this indicates our ability to compete effectively with other teams. Our team, when participating in any competition, will have the prospect and possibility of emerging as the winners. Thus, I believe it is a beneficial acquisition. Harry Kane's presence, alongside our other players, will undeniably contribute to our success. Consequently, there is great anticipation for the moment when he is granted permission to play.
Redknapp: Spurs should have done Kane deal earlier to give Ange time to adapt
According to Paul Merson:"Tottenham cannot refuse this offer considering there is only one year remaining on his contract and the possibility of him leaving for free thereafter.
Age is irrelevant to me; I believe he can continue playing effortlessly until the age of 35 or even 36. His style of play is not dependent on speed, and his intelligence is on par with anyone's."
I am still surprised today and I cannot understand why Manchester United did not acquire him. If they had, they could have benefitted from his abilities for four or five years and potentially won the Premier League.
There is no alternative - it is unimaginable to let him leave without any compensation next season. Regardless of who you are, considering the current financial landscape of the Premier League, it would be foolish not to secure him.
"Do you think this Tottenham team will secure a top-four spot next season? I highly doubt it. So, it's not as if keeping him guarantees a top-four finish. Therefore, any loss incurred from selling him will be compensated by qualification for the Champions League. However, that won't be the case.
Last season, Kane scored 30 goals, yet Spurs failed to perform well. It's unfortunate for Ange Postecoglou, but we are discussing a team that may secure a top-four spot if he remains, compared to a team that won't even finish in the top half without him. They will definitely be a bottom-half team once he departs."
"Who is going to get the goals? They finished eighth last season. I like James Maddison, he's a good player, but Leicester got relegated."
