It seems that Rose Hanbury is back in the royal family fold. Queen Camilla was seen with Hanbury (also known as Sarah Rose Hanbury) at the Badminton Horse Trials on Sunday, May 12, held at Badminton House in England.
Camila, 76, looked very happy chatting with Hanbury, 40, and popular makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury. Hanbury wore a stylish dark blue blazer at the event, which matched the queen's blue dress.
Since March, Hanbury has chosen to stay out of the spotlight, especially after rumors resurfaced about her supposed affair with Prince William when Princess Kate Middleton decided to take a break from her public engagements.
As questions about Kate’s whereabouts rose earlier this year, late night host Stephen Colbert name-dropped Hanbury with a joke about the Prince of Wales.

During the March 12 episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Colbert, 59, shared some troubling news about England's royal family. Internet sleuths are speculating that Kate's absence could be linked to her husband, William, the future King of England, possibly having an affair.
Colbert mentioned that he was "ready to spill the tea" and brought up Hanbury's name. Hanbury got married to David Cholmondeley, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley in 2009.
He hinted, "I think we all know who the alleged other woman is, The Marchioness of Cholmondeley." There were rumors of an affair between William and Hanbury since 2019. Reports claimed that when Kate confronted him about it, he simply laughed it off, denying any truth to it. A classic response when accused of cheating by your spouse.
Days later, a lawyer for Hanbury released a statement to Business Insider, denying the alleged infidelity.
“The rumors are completely false,” the attorneys wrote at the time.
Colbert later apologized for spreading rumors about the affair after Kate revealed in a widely shared video on March 22 that she was receiving cancer treatment. This was the reason for her absence from the public eye, following a planned abdominal surgery in January.
During the apology in March, Colbert admitted that he tries to hold himself to a certain standard, which includes not making light of someone else's tragedy. He acknowledged the harrowing experience that a cancer diagnosis, of any kind, brings to the patient and their loved ones.
He concluded by saying that everyone at The Late Show sends well wishes and hopes for a quick and full recovery.
Editor's P/S:
The recent public appearance of Rose Hanbury alongside Queen Camilla marks a significant shift in the royal family's stance towards her. Hanbury had previously been ostracized following rumors of an affair with Prince William. The Queen's cordial interaction with her suggests a reconciliation and a willingness to move beyond the past allegations.
It is important to note that the rumors surrounding the affair remain unverified. Hanbury's legal team has vehemently denied the claims, and Prince William has never publicly commented on the matter. Colbert's initial joke and subsequent apology highlight the delicate nature of discussing unconfirmed information, especially when it involves sensitive personal matters. The royal family's response to Hanbury's reappearance in their circle sends a clear message that they are choosing to focus on the present and leave the past behind.
