Riverdale Star Vanessa Morgan's Heartwarming Photo Reveals Son's Adorable Bond with New Boyfriend James Karnik

Vanessa Morgan shared a glimpse of her boyfriend, James Karnik, bonding with her 2-year-old son, River on Instagram Story. The 31-year-old actress posted videos of Karnik pulling her baby boy on a mini zipline in their yard. She also uploaded a video titled "Date nights," where she walked while fireworks lit up the background.

Morgan had previously shared limited details about her relationship with Karnik, but has become more private about her personal life since experiencing public challenges with her ex-husband, Michael Kopech, who is also the father of her child.

In July 2020, the Riverdale actress revealed her pregnancy, which came six months after her marriage to Kopech, who is 27 years old. Fans were quick to observe that Kopech was not mentioned in the joyful announcement.

"Exciting news! I am thrilled to announce that I will be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January. He has brought me immense happiness and a sense of purpose," Morgan expressed in July 2020. "I am eagerly anticipating our meeting! On a personal level, being in the public eye since I was 6 years old has been an incredible experience. However, I am also excited to allow my little boy to grow up away from the public eye, unless he tells me otherwise."

She added, "My dear child, you were brought into this world with an abundance of love and radiate a bright light that warms my belly. Thank you, God, for this blessed gift. I am overflowing with joy and committed to being the best mother I can be every single day."

Following the confirmation of the milestone, it was revealed that the couple had ended their relationship. It had been one month since the athlete had filed for divorce in his home state of Texas.

In January 2021, Morgan embraced motherhood when she welcomed her son, River. Initially, she shared glimpses of her co-parenting experience with Kopech, but she later turned to social media to express her joy and personal growth in raising her son alone.

“To the boy who made me a mother, River Dante. I am grateful every day that your little soul chose me," she wrote on Instagram in May 2021. "You bring tears to my eyes with the happiness you bring me. To all the mothers out there enduring sleepless nights and making sacrifices day after day for their little ones, I see you. Morgan and Karnik began their relationship in 2022, while Kopech moved on with Morgan Eudy. The couple welcomed their son Vander in May 2022 and are currently expecting their second child together. (Eudy is also a mother to her daughter Kaia from a previous relationship.)

“My favorite thing to watch him do is dad ,” Eudy captioned an Instagram post in June of Kopech with River, Vander and his fiancée’s eldest child.
