Elvis Presley's granddaughter, Riley Keough, is currently working to ensure that Graceland stays within her family.

As per legal papers acquired by Us, the 34-year-old actress took legal action on Wednesday, May 15, alleging fraud against the company that attempted to sell the iconic rock-and-roll estate.

In early May, news surfaced about the foreclosure sale of Graceland, the iconic home in Memphis, Tennessee where Elvis Presley lived. The notice revealed that Promenade Trust, the entity in charge of Graceland, owes $3.8 million to Naussany Investments and Private Lending due to a loan that was not repaid from six years ago.

Keough's legal team successfully obtained a temporary restraining order, which has halted a public auction that was scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 23, at the Shelby County Courthouse in Memphis. This was reported by USA Today on Monday.

Keough became the owner of the Promenade Trust after her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, passed away in January 2023 at the age of 54 due to a cardiac arrest. Despite claims from Naussany Investments that Lisa Marie had used Graceland as collateral for a loan she never repaid, Keough has filed a lawsuit stating that the lender's documents are forged. According to Keough, her mother never borrowed money from Naussany Investments or granted them a deed of trust.

An injunction hearing regarding the dispute has been scheduled by Memphis' Chancery Court for Wednesday, May 22.

Keough, known for her role in the TV show Daisy Jones & The Six, has taken on a greater role in preserving her family's legacy following Lisa Marie's passing. She recently announced that she will be releasing her mother's memoir posthumously, with the book set to be available on October 15.

Explaining her decision to publish Lisa Marie's story, Keough mentioned that not many people had the chance to truly understand who her mother was. She expressed her excitement in sharing her mother's most vulnerable and honest moments through the autobiography, hoping that readers will come to love her mother just as she did.

Lisa Marie had a daughter named Keough with her ex-husband Danny Keough. She also had twin daughters, Finley and Harper, who are 15 years old, with her ex-husband Michael Lockwood.

After Lisa Marie passed away, Keough became the sole trustee of her estate. Initially, there was a legal dispute with her grandmother Priscilla regarding the will. However, it was later settled with an agreement. As part of the settlement, Riley’s younger sisters were named sub-trustees and Priscilla received a $1 million lump sum payment.
