Monica Garcia from Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is expecting her fifth baby. She shared the exciting news on the "The Viall Files" podcast episode that aired on Thursday, April 11. When asked about her future plans after appearing on the Bravo reality show, Garcia at first hesitated but then revealed that she is seven weeks pregnant.
"I just found out recently. I haven't shared this news with anyone except my best friend," she revealed.
She went on to explain that she had visited urgent care for an unrelated issue when she was informed about the pregnancy by a doctor. When questioned about the father, Garcia playfully avoided giving a direct answer.
She expressed her frustration, "I've been dating him for a year and no one even knows who he is." The reality star then became emotional, thanking host Nick Viall and his fiancée, Natalie Joy, for creating a safe space for her to share. Garcia clarified that she and her mystery man were not planning to have a baby.
She expressed her disbelief, saying, "I should not be pregnant." She found herself on the urgent care floor, crying uncontrollably. At 39 years old and on birth control, she never imagined this could happen. It's a scary and unbelievable situation for her.
Garcia is a mother of four, with children Bri, 18, Jaidyn, 13, West, 7, and Kendall, 6, from her previous marriage to Mike Fowler. After finalizing their divorce last year, she is now a single mother raising her children. The couple first separated in 2013, briefly reunited, and then ultimately decided to part ways for good.
Garcia shared on Thursday that she met her new partner while filming her season of RHOSLC, although she did not disclose his name. He works at Wasatch Excursions in Utah, managing the property where she and Heather Gay filmed their snowmobiling scene.
The two began talking a few weeks after meeting on set. During filming, Garcia inquired about his relationship status and found out he was involved with someone else at the time.
"I was like, 'What does courting even mean?' I'm not living in Bridgerton times," she joked. "I have no clue what that term means."
Although courting is commonly linked to the Mormon faith, Garcia mentioned that her partner is not currently practicing the religion. "But he used to be Mormon," she explained. "We do share that in common."
Garcia took the initiative by approaching him during a break. She asked, "Do you have a girlfriend?" He replied, "No, I'm just dating someone."
After confirming that he was not in a committed relationship, Garcia shared her phone number with him. She mentioned that there is a 10-year age gap between them, with her boyfriend being 29 years old.
Garcia’s new partner has been extremely supportive since learning about her pregnancy. Both of them were surprised at first, but he has been incredibly understanding and reassuring. He has been very supportive and told her, "Whatever you decide, I support you."
Despite her excitement, Garcia admitted that she still has some fears. She thought she was finished having children. Being older and expecting a baby is making her quite anxious. Her youngest child is 6 years old, and she believed she was done having more children. It's a lot to take in.
