Following the long-awaited 2.0 update and the Phantom Liberty expansion, Cyberpunk 2077 has undergone significant improvements, resulting in a much more enjoyable experience for players returning to Night City. One notable improvement is the revamped car purchasing system available to the player character, V.
Night City, with its vast open world, offers a plethora of futuristic vehicles for V to explore in style. Prior to the 2.0 update, the car buying process was a tedious affair, with fixers bombarding V with incessant offers. However, with the highly anticipated expansion's release, this process has been streamlined, eliminating the annoying flood of messages on V's phone. Here's a guide on how to purchase cars in Cyberpunk 2077 after the patch.
Autofixer Terminals
To obtain vehicles, V must utilize the Autofixer Terminals which have been conveniently scattered across Night City. To locate these terminals, simply access the map and apply the service points filter. Look out for the small car symbol accompanied by a dollar sign, denoting the Autofixer Terminal locations. Additionally, V can also access the Autofixer website via the computer in their apartment building.
El Capitan, the operator of the Autofixer website, will send an email to players at the start of the game. The cars available for purchase by V are now linked to their Street Cred level. Street Cred serves as a distinct gauge of V's reputation as a mercenary in Night City. To increase Street Cred, players must complete side quests and gigs for the Fixers across town. Additionally, taking down wanted criminals identified by the NCPD using the scanner on gang members will also contribute to gaining Street Cred.
To access the terminals, press and hold the Square/X button. This action will direct the player to the Autofixer home page. Use the cursor to navigate through the various fictional car manufacturers. Select a manufacturer to view the available cars from that brand. The Phantom Liberty and the 2.0 update have introduced vehicles equipped with weapons. Look for an ammo or missile symbol to identify the type of weapon. Once you have made a selection, proceed to purchase the chosen vehicle. It will then be added to V's phone for convenient access whenever required, simplifying the process significantly.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
