Sony has recently expanded its PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalogs by adding a total of 15 games. Out of these, 4 games join the Premium collection and the rest join the Extra collection. Among the games added, there are some noteworthy horror titles suitable for Halloween, such as Alien: Isolation, House of Ashes, and Outlast 2.
Both Sony and Microsoft, although not committed to specific holidays or seasons annually, celebrate Halloween in their own unique ways through their gaming services. Xbox Game Pass, for instance, will include the highly anticipated Dead Space remake on October 26, courtesy of EA Play. This addition showcases the emphasis on quality rather than quantity. On the other hand, PS Plus offers a range of horror-themed games across various collections (Essential, Extra, and Premium), including the upcoming spiritual successor to Dead Space, Callisto Protocol, and several other games with horror elements, such as Dead Island.
PS Plus Extra subscribers now have the option to claim the following games: Alien: Isolation, Dead Island: Definitive Edition, Disco Elysium, Eldest Souls, Elite Dangerous, FAR: Changing Tides, Gotham Knights, Gungrave GORE, Outlast 2, Roki, and The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes. Subscribers to the higher PS Plus Premium tier will have access to all of these titles, as well as four additional games: Ape Escape Academy, IQ Final, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, and Tekken 6.

The ever-changing lineup of games offered by PS Plus means that fans who may not be satisfied with this month's selection can anticipate a different set of games for the following month. While the announcement and addition of the PS Plus Extra and Premium games for November are still a few weeks and a month away respectively, it's time to turn our attention to the upcoming PS Plus Essential Tier.
Sony is expected to unveil the free PS Plus games for November 2023 on November 1, with their release planned for November 7. Typically, the pattern has been for the announcement to occur on the last Wednesday of the month, followed by the release on the first Tuesday of the following month. However, due to this month ending on a Tuesday, the pattern deviates slightly. Nonetheless, since the PS Plus free games for October are set to expire on November 7, fans can expect this schedule to hold true.
PS Plus subscribers get a handful of games every month.
