Creating new contacts in person can be a hassle, whether it's reading out phone numbers or handing over your phone. Fortunately, Apple is introducing a new feature called "NameDrop" in iOS 17 that utilizes AirDrop to make this process seamless. With NameDrop, iPhone users can easily swap contact information simply by bringing their phones close to each other. Both devices will display a Contact Poster, and with a single tap, contact information is saved to each user's Contacts app. This feature also works between an iPhone and Apple Watch, making exchanging information effortless.
The latest update to AirDrop includes more than one modification. Two iPhones can now use the same gesture to share music via SharePlay, watch a movie together, or even play a game. This gesture is being viewed as a means for iPhone users to enhance the ease and fluidity of their devices' interactions with each other.
You’ll be able to check this out whenever iOS 17 rolls out to your device, which is expected to happen in a few months.
