Highlights

The Halloween update for GTA Online brings new spooky content, including a Ghostbusters-inspired vehicle and three scary modes to play.

Players have the opportunity to acquire bonus rewards such as GTA$ and RP by taking part in Halloween activities and successfully finishing missions. Furthermore, the update incorporates an array of Halloween-themed additions such as roaming possessed animals, phantom cars, UFOs, and more, making it an enticing exploration for daring players.

The latest update for Grand Theft Auto Online brings Halloween to the game, featuring a range of spooky content, including a vehicle resembling the Ghostbusters' Ecto-1. Along with this, the update includes three new scary modes, a mission to capture ghostly photographs, bonus GTA$ and RP rewards, and even some free loot. However, players should avoid uttering "Trick or Treat," as they may find themselves transformed into ghosts. While updates for GTA Online are becoming less frequent, Rockstar consistently delivers for Halloween each year. Past Halloween updates have featured rare sasquatch outfits and UFOs in 2022, as well as phantom cars and wandering slashers in 2021. And each Halloween event offers rewarding opportunities for brave GTA Online players who dare to face the horrors of the free mode.

This year's Halloween brings exciting updates for GTA Online fans. Starting with the introduction of a new vehicle, the Albany Brigham muscle car. This car can be purchased at the Southern San Andreas Super Autos shop or obtained for free at the Vinewood Car Club for GTA+ members. Adding to its appeal, the Albany Brigham can be customized with the Ghosts Exposed livery, which is unlocked by photographing specific apparitions. Although reminiscent of the Ghostbusters' Ecto-1, it maintains enough distinction to avoid any copyright issues.

In addition to the Ghosts Exposed photo hunt, GTA Online offers three new Halloween Deathmatch modes. Drop Dead pits the living against the dead in an asymmetric team deathmatch. Suck It Up requires players to cause damage to opponents in order to heal themselves. Lastly, Damned and Lose is a free-for-all deathmatch held in a maze without mini-map blips. All three modes offer double GTA$ and RP rewards, with quadruple rewards for GTA+ members.

The update includes more than just the Albany Brigham and Deathmatches. Players will encounter wandering possessed animals that attack when provoked and transform. Phantom cars and UFOs make a return, and Business Battles challenge players to steal spaceship parts from Fort Zancudo. Completing various missions allows players to collect Halloween masks, and Halloween-themed props have been added to the GTA Online Job Creator. The Halloween 2023 update is now live, allowing players to explore the new content at their own pace. While some elements may be recycled from previous years, this update brings surprising fresh additions. Halloween festivities will continue in GTA Online throughout the holiday season and into November.

Grand Theft Auto Online is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
