Brooklyn Nine-Nine's cast and crew are honoring the late Andre Braugher, who passed away at the age of 61. Braugher, who died on Monday, December 11 after a short illness, was remembered fondly by his former B99 co-stars on social media.
"It's hard to believe you're gone so soon. I feel lucky to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you, and spent 8 amazing years witnessing your irreplaceable talent. This hurts. You left us too soon. You taught me so much," Terry Crews, who played Lieutenant Terry Jeffords, shared on Instagram. "I will always be grateful for the privilege of knowing you. Thank you for your wisdom, your advice, your kindness, and your friendship."
Braugher brought to life the beloved character Captain Raymond Holt on the NBC series, which aired for eight seasons from 2013 to 2021, alongside Crews, Andy Samberg, Melissa Fumero, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Lo Truglio, and others. As an openly gay Black man in the police force, Holt became a meaningful representation for the LGBTQIA+ community, challenging stereotypes. During his time on the show, Braugher earned two Critics Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and received four Emmy Award nominations.

"Many wonderful stories will be told about Andre, but for now, my love goes to his wife Ami and his three boys.
