While a coordinated group heist might find it relatively easier to gain access to an open vault with sufficient knowledge, being a solitary robber like myself posed significant risks. However, I adopted this method successfully. There was a noteworthy incident in 1997, where two undercover officers, posing as ordinary customers inside a Los Angeles bank, confronted two individuals attempting a robbery. Tragically, one of the suspects lost his life. Many banks, for this very reason, opt not to employ armed security, as it increases the likelihood of a violent confrontation.
