More cowboys and cowgirls are exploring the wild west in Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC than ever before. On November 26th, the Rockstar game hit a new peak with over 77,000 players, marking a surge in player interest. According to Twitter user videotechuk_, this increase can be attributed to a Black Friday sale for the game. SteamDB also confirmed the new player-count peak, showing 77,655 people playing the game on that day. This sets a new record for the action-adventure title, coming four years after its launch on PC in November 2019.
The peak player count for Red Dead Redemption 2 occurred a year ago, on November 27, 2022, with 66,492 people. A Steam sale was once again attributed to the boost in game activity surrounding the Van der Linde gang. With over 50 million copies sold, Red Dead Redemption 2 is among the top 10 best-selling games of all time, sharing the list with another popular Rockstar title, Grand Theft Auto V.
Speaking of Rockstar, the studio has confirmed a GTA 6 trailer is arriving next month. The video will also help celebrate the developer's 25th anniversary.
