Rebel Wilson recently shared on her Instagram Story that she is facing harassment from a former costar over her upcoming memoir, Rebel Rising. In her post on Friday, March 22, the actress mentioned that she wrote about an "asshole" in her book, and now that person is trying to stop her from publishing it. Wilson, 44, expressed her frustration over the situation, revealing that the individual has hired a crisis PR manager and lawyers to intimidate her.
"He is trying to stop the press from getting information about my book," she said. But she assured her followers that the book will still be released, and they will finally know the truth. Rebel xoxo.
Wilson has not revealed the identity of the person trying to extort her before her book launch next month. However, she gave a hint about his identity during her book promotion in March.
"When I first arrived in Hollywood, I heard a lot of people saying, 'I have a strict no assholes policy, which means I refuse to work with rude people.' It made sense to me at first," she shared in a video on Instagram dated March 15. "But then I realized they were referring to the older individuals in the industry."
She continued, "Now, I have also adopted a no assholes policy. In my memoir, Chapter 23 is dedicated to that particular individual who was incredibly rude."

Wilson previously mentioned witnessing misconduct among her Hollywood coworkers. In a now-deleted post from November 2017, she expressed her difficulty in hearing about the stories of sexual harassment and assault in Hollywood while she was overseas working on new comedy projects.
A male celebrity in a powerful position asked me to go into a room with him and then kept asking me to do something uncomfortable. His friends were there, trying to film the whole thing on their phones and laughing. I said no many times and managed to leave the room.
After the incident, Wilson called her agent right away. Her attorney then filed a complaint with the film studio.
At the time, she mentioned that she created the contract to protect herself in case a similar situation happened again so she could leave her job without having to go back. She also shared that she was pressured by one of the star's representatives to show support and be nice to the star, which she refused to do. She found the entire situation to be unpleasant.
In a social media post, Wilson did not reveal the name of the person she was referring to. However, three years prior, she had accused Sacha Baron Cohen of harassment while they were working on the set of The Brothers Grimsby.
Wilson shared a funny anecdote about Sacha Baron Cohen during an interview on Australian radio's Kyle and Jackie O Show in 2014. According to Wilson, Sacha would often suggest outrageous things like going naked for comedic effect. Despite her refusal, Sacha would persist, referencing his own naked scene in Borat as an example.
As Wilson and Sacha shared the same agent in America, she jokingly threatened to report his behavior to their agent Sharon. Wilson thought she had finally won the argument when Sacha used a body double for the naked scene instead.
However, things took a surprising turn during the final take. Wilson claimed that Sacha unexpectedly requested her to stick her finger up his butt for a comedic bit, a request that was not in the script. Wilson was taken aback by the unusual request, highlighting the unexpected and humorous moments that can happen on set.
Baron Cohen, now 52, never publicly addressed the allegations. We reached out for comment.
