Rebel Wilson has debunked the misconception that she follows a carb-free diet after her impressive weight loss. In fact, she shared her belief on the number of calories that people actually require.
During a promotional event for her Fluid app, held in Beverly Hills and sponsored by Casamigos Cristalino, Wilson, 43, revealed, "I have come to learn that one typically only needs around 600 calories per day. There is no necessity for the commonly recommended 1,500 or 2,000 calories." However, she clarified that consuming 600 calories is usually part of a detox routine rather than a recommended daily practice. Although she did not disclose whether she personally adheres to the 600-calorie regimen, she emphasized that she does not endorse others to follow it.
The Pitch Perfect actress, who has shed over 75 pounds since 2020, revealed that her perspective on dieting shifted after participating in a food program. She emphasized that contrary to popular belief, the body does not require excessive calories. Instead, she emphasized the importance of portion control, acknowledging that this approach may sound unconventional to some.
Wilson emphasized the importance of maintaining a balanced diet and portion control, stating, "Eating right and consuming smaller portions is key." At her Thursday event, attendees were treated to a personalized Casamigos Ice luge and welcome margaritas showcasing the latest Casamigos Cristalino. The guests also participated in an interactive quiz to discover their ideal cocktail match before creating their own cocktails. Despite following a structured eating plan, the actress admitted that she does include carbohydrates in her diet, albeit in limited quantities. She clarified, "I do enjoy pizza and pasta, but I practice moderation and refrain from overindulging."

Wilson believes that the main reason behind people's weight gain is their tendency to feel hungry when they are confined to a desk or a car, leading them to seek comfort in food as a way to cope with stress. Additionally, the cofounder of the Fluid app stated that excessive food consumption is unnecessary. Despite implementing her own restrictions, Wilson confesses that she occasionally allows herself to indulge in ice cream as a guilty pleasure.
"Nowadays, I am more mindful of my food choices. In the past, I would indulge in a whole pint of Ben & Jerry's without thinking twice. It had become a habit," she shared. "But now, I have changed my approach. I will only have a small portion, about a third of a pint, and I savor it slowly. I no longer consume the entire pint like I used to. Those days are behind me."
After embarking on her "year of health" in early 2020, the acclaimed Australian actress, known for her role as Fat Amy in the Pitch Perfect franchise, had already shed an impressive 60 pounds by November of the same year. However, Wilson didn't stop there.
After achieving her desired weight of 165 pounds, Wilson shifted her focus towards sustaining her healthier habits rather than obsessing over the scale. According to an exclusive source in July 2022, Rebel is no longer working with a daily trainer to shed additional pounds, but instead, she is dedicated to maintaining her current weight and embracing her newfound confidence. Her positive outlook and satisfaction with her progress are evident in her overall well-being.
Wilson's positive attitude extended to her personal life as well. She made her relationship with Ramona Agruma public in June 2022. Just five months later, the actress shared the joyous news of welcoming her first child, a daughter named Royce, through a surrogate. In February, Wilson happily confirmed her engagement to Agruma, 39, after a romantic proposal at Disneyland.
Wilson, the star of Senior Year, recently shared that her journey as a parent has led to some weight gain. Admitting to being an emotional eater, she explained to the Daily Mail that the lack of sleep and adjustments in her lifestyle contributed to the increase.
