Sea of Stars, a new game that has received high ratings, has now been added to the Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus Extra lineups. While Xbox Game Pass regularly includes day one games, it is uncommon for PS Plus Extra to feature such releases. It is even more extraordinary for Sea of Stars to be simultaneously available on both PS Plus Extra and Xbox Game Pass as a day one release. This dual availability makes it more convenient for interested players to try the game, as it can be accessed through a subscription fee rather than buying it outright. Considering the positive reviews, both PS Plus Extra and Xbox Game Pass subscribers should definitely consider giving Sea of Stars a try.
Sea of Stars currently boasts a phenomenal 90 overall rating as per the renowned review aggregate site, OpenCritic. The game's reviews have overwhelmingly praised it as a remarkable modern interpretation of classic JRPG tropes. Drawing numerous comparisons to the iconic Chrono Trigger, Sea of Stars has captured the attention of fans yearning for an enthralling experience akin to the beloved Square Enix masterpiece. PlayStation Plus Extra or Xbox Game Pass subscribers might find particular interest in embarking on this new gaming adventure.
Please note that there are versions of PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass that do not include Sea of Stars. On the PlayStation Plus side, both PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers have access to Sea of Stars, while it is not available for those signed up for the PS Plus Essential tier. Similarly, most Xbox Game Pass tiers currently offer Sea of Stars, but it will not be included in the upcoming Xbox Game Pass Core subscription.
Xbox Game Pass Core is a new tier of Xbox Game Pass that will be introduced in September, replacing Xbox Live Gold. It includes the benefits previously associated with Xbox Live Gold, except for the monthly free games, which have been replaced with a selection of titles from the main Xbox Game Pass library.
In September 2023, both Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus are expected to have significant updates. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can look forward to the much-anticipated Starfield joining the platform. Sony has not yet announced its plans for PS Plus in the upcoming month. However, leaked information suggests that the 2022 Saints Row game will be included as a free game for PS Plus subscribers in September 2023.
Currently, Sea of Stars is already available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
