Princess Eugenie provided an update on King Charles III's health during his cancer battle. "Thank you for asking. He's doing well," Eugenie, 33, mentioned at the Elephant Family's Little Egg Hunt on March 21. According to ITV reporter Chris Ship, she added, "He'd also be very proud today because the Elephant Family is very close to his heart too."

The Elephant Family nonprofit, founded by Queen Camilla’s late brother Mark Shand, hosted a fundraising campaign on Thursday. The outdoor art exhibition aims to support the organization’s conservation efforts. Eugenie, the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, is a patron of the Elephant Family.

During her public appearance, Eugenie read the children’s book Elmer to students from Garden House School.

"Thrilled to be part of the opening of @elephantfamily @clarencecourt Little Egg Hunt this morning," she shared on Instagram. "12 artists have set up 12 installations to create an Easter Egg trail around Chelsea, bringing attention to the charity's vital conservation efforts."

Eugenie also mentioned that Thursday marks the 10th anniversary of Shand's passing, who was Charles' brother-in-law. (Charles wed Camilla, 76, in 2005 following their divorces.)

Eugenie shared on social media how she felt it was a perfect way to honor his memory by supporting @elephantfamily and their work in protecting these majestic creatures. She was the only royal present at the benefit on Thursday. Charles, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment, has been reducing his public appearances but has still managed to hold a few audiences at Buckingham Palace this month.

The palace announced in January that Charles, who became king in 2022, had a routine procedure for an enlarged prostate. Later on, it was disclosed that Charles had been diagnosed with a type of cancer. Despite no additional information from Charles, royal expert Omid Scobie stated that the king is not suffering from prostate cancer.

Charles briefly talked about his diagnosis in a statement recently.

"I want to thank everyone for the support and well wishes I received recently," he mentioned in February. "For anyone dealing with cancer, these kind thoughts mean a lot and give strength."

He added, "It's also uplifting to see how sharing my diagnosis has raised awareness and highlighted the amazing work of organizations supporting cancer patients and families in the U.K. and beyond. My respect for their hard work and commitment has only grown through my own experience."
