Prince Harry has declined the invitation to his father, King Charles III's upcoming birthday event. The celebration is scheduled for November 14 at Clarence House in London, where Charles will be surrounded by his friends and family.
Harry recently traveled abroad from California, his residence with wife Meghan Markle and their two children, to attend a series of significant events. Among them, in September, the couple demonstrated their support at the 2023 Invictus Games in Germany, an event previously established by Harry in 2014. En route, Harry briefly stopped in the U.K. to participate in the 2023 WellChild Awards. During this short visit, Harry paid tribute to his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, at St. George's Chapel to commemorate the first anniversary of her passing. (Elizabeth passed away in September 2022 at the age of 96.)
According to an exclusive source, "Everyone is aware of the strong bond between Harry and the queen, so being able to visit her resting place and offer his respects held immense significance to him. Although Harry now resides in the United States, the U.K. will forever hold a special place in his heart, making it all the more meaningful for him to be present on this occasion."
Despite being in town, Harry did not visit his father, Charles, or his brother, Prince William. Harry and Meghan decided to step down from their senior royal duties in March 2020 and relocated their family to California, which caused tensions between Harry, Charles, and William. Following their departure, the couple, who have two children, Archie and Lilibet, have openly discussed the highs and lows they encountered while being part of the royal family. In fact, Harry even wrote about some of these experiences in his memoir, Spare.

Harry and Charles had a reunion in May for the coronation ceremony of the latter. Meghan chose not to join the historic event and decided to stay in the U.S. to celebrate Archie's 4th birthday. After the culmination of the coronation festivities, Harry promptly returned home to be with his wife and children.
According to royal expert Nick Bullen, it is believed that Harry did not have any encounters with the Prince or Princess of Wales during the reunion. However, he did have a conversation with his father the night before, as reported exclusively to Us in May.
Harry's strained relationship with other members of the royal family is resulting in a closer bond between Charles and William, as shared by royal expert Christopher Andersen. According to Andersen, the duo has had to present a united front against Harry and Meghan, as they have faced insults from within their own family. This challenging experience has brought them closer together, strengthening their bond.
