Prince William is back to his royal duties following a recent outing with Princess Kate Middleton.

During a solo trip to Sheffield, England on Tuesday, March 19, William, 41, focused on The Royal Foundation’s Homewards Programme. He shared that his partner in the initiative has generously donated over $1 million to help combat homelessness.

Last summer, Homebase introduced a program to offer up to 1,500 “Home Starter Packs” to help individuals settle into their new homes comfortably. These packs may include items like paint, furniture, flooring, and furnishings.

William's visit began with a meeting with parents, caregivers, and young adults from local families who have experienced housing insecurity and homelessness. The Prince of Wales was accompanied by campaigner and influencer Kwajo Tweneboa, who shared his own story of homelessness and housing insecurity.

William’s office at Kensington Palace stated that involving individuals with lived experience in the development and implementation of Homewards is a key principle of the program. A month later, Kensington Palace announced that the Princess of Wales had a scheduled procedure and would be delaying her royal engagements for a few months.

The palace shared that the surgery went well and the patient is expected to stay in the hospital for ten to fourteen days before going home to recover further. According to medical advice, she will not be able to resume public duties until after Easter.

On March 4, she was seen in the passenger seat of a vehicle with her mother, Carole Middleton. A week later, Kate was spotted leaving Windsor Castle with William, but her face was turned away from the camera.

While celebrating Mother’s Day in the U.K. on March 10, Kate posted a photo on Instagram with her children. The caption confirmed that the picture was taken this year. However, news outlets later received a request to remove the photo as it seemed to be edited.

Kate responded to the photo editing controversy in a statement via X on March 11. She mentioned that like many amateur photographers, she also tries out editing sometimes. Kate apologized for any confusion caused by the family photo that was shared the day before.
