The Pokemon Horizons series, also known as Pocket Monsters: Liko and Roy's Departure and Pocket Monsters: The Sparkling of Terapagos in Japan, made its debut in April. The two story arcs will be combined for the American release of Pokemon Horizons, which has been scheduled by Netflix for February 2024.
In this series, two new Pokemon trainers, Liko and Roy, team up with the Rising Volt Tacklers, a group of adventurers who explore the ever-expanding Pokemon world. The series will feature the Paldea region, which was introduced in the 2022 Pokemon: Scarlet and Violet games.
Horizons marked a significant departure from the traditional Pokemon series by not featuring Ash Ketchum, leading to widespread speculation among fans about the future of the beloved franchise. The English debut of the series will be on BBC iPlayer and CBBC in December, offering American audiences their first glimpse of the new direction. Alejandra Reynoso and Anjali Kunapaneni will lend their voices to the characters Liko and Roy in the English dub.

As a Gen Z netizen, I'm thrilled about the upcoming release of Pokemon Horizons on Netflix. The Pokemon franchise has been a huge part of my childhood, and I've been eagerly following the adventures of Ash Ketchum and his friends for years. However, I'm also a bit sad to see Ash's journey come to an end. He's been an iconic character, and it will be strange to see the series without him.
I'm excited to see what the new series, Pokemon Horizons, has to offer. The new characters, Liko and Roy, seem like they'll be a lot of fun, and I'm eager to explore the new Paldea region. I'm also curious to see how the series will handle the departure of Ash Ketchum. Will they introduce a new main character, or will they focus on the other characters in the series?
