Angie Katsanevas, star of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, realized that not everyone is trustworthy after her transition from "friend" to full-time Housewife.
"I'm naive, I want to be friends with everyone," confessed Angie, 50, exclusively during the latest episode of We's "Housewives' Happy Hour."
She said, "I realized that not everyone is your friend, and that's disappointing. I was hoping that everyone would be as trustworthy as I am, but it's been a bit of a wake-up call that you have to be cautious with certain people."
Angie made her first appearance on RHOSLC during season 2 and became a regular cast member when season 4 premiered in September. Throughout this season, fans have witnessed her conflicts with Meredith Marks as rumors about Angie's husband, Shawn Trujillo, being involved with other men have taken center stage. The tension escalated after Angie crashed Meredith's Palm Springs trip, and the drama has not let up.
“I noticed that your jewelry is dusty, and this is the place you chose to bring it? Let me make this clear. If people feel the need to associate themselves with me to seem important, then so be it,” Angie expressed in an episode from October. “Everyone in Salt Lake City knows the truth. There have never been any rumors about infidelity.”
Despite the rumors surrounding her personal life, Angie is striving to rise above it all. “The most important lesson I’ve learned is to not believe everything, because people will say anything to gain attention,” she shared with Us.
When questioned about Meredith’s occasional adoption of various accents — viewers were startled by the sound of Meredith’s voice during a disastrous dinner in Palm Springs — Angie stated, “Meredith has multiple personalities. … Today I’m British, today I’m Greek, today I’m American. I don’t know, it’s fun, good for her. Lots of role playing going on.”
Angie Katsanevas commented that alcohol could possibly be a factor in Meredith's unusual behavior. She mentioned staying sober during filming and in her daily life and expressed uncertainty about whether wine might be the cause of Meredith's sudden change in accents and personalities.
Angie's impromptu arrival in Palm Springs was lighthearted, but she has learned her lesson and will not be gatecrashing any more trips in the future. "I just wish others shared my sense of humor," she told Us. "I'm all for a good time and next time, hopefully, I'll be the one in charge and include everyone."
Despite some falling-outs on the show, Angie has also formed strong friendships with her fellow cast members. "Not everyone is genuine," Angie stated. "But I have my true friends by my side, and for that, I'm extremely grateful."
