Payday 3 Releases Highly Anticipated First Major Update

The highly anticipated Payday 3 Patch 101 has arrived, addressing numerous bugs and bringing significant improvements to the game However, there are still more enhancements and fixes to come, ensuring a better gaming experience for all

Payday 3 had a rocky start after its release on September 18. However, the highly anticipated first patch, Patch 1.0.1, has finally been released. This patch includes a 2GB update for all platforms and addresses many of the game's technical issues. It resolves minor problems that have been frustrating players. Additionally, all exclusive rewards, such as pre-order bonuses and platform-specific items, have now been correctly distributed, except for the weapon charm and death wish reward from a Payday 2 cross promotion. Starbreeze Studios plans to address this issue in the next patch.

The developers of Payday 3 have issued multiple apologies for the game's rocky launch, and the recent patch marks the first step toward resolving its issues and improving its reputation among players. Despite the potential for future patches and updates to unlock the game's true potential, current Steam charts indicate that Payday 2 continues to attract a larger player base, suggesting that players are opting to stick with the decade-old game instead.

Throughout the launch, Starbreeze Studios has demonstrated its commitment to enhancing the game, actively listening to player feedback and openly addressing the challenges faced by the development team. In a recent update, the studio acknowledged a critical error in its update process, leading to a delay in the initial patch to prevent potential data corruption for players. Additionally, Starbreeze Studios expressed its dedication to enhancing the game's progression system, which has garnered negative reviews from players, and vowed to deliver more content by the end of the year.

BALANCE

For this patch, we aim to primarily address minor fixes.

Acknowledging that Last Man Standing and Armor Up are performing too well, our plan is to make a few adjustments that maintain their effectiveness, but require more setup to reap the benefits they offer. These adjustments will be introduced in the upcoming major patch. Apart from these two skills, we do not anticipate any major nerfs to other skills in the next patch. However, considering that players are still getting accustomed to the game, we will closely monitor the meta.

SKILLS

In addition, we acknowledge that armor holds greater value in comparison to ammo and health within the game. While we are satisfied with the functionality of armor, we intend to introduce additional methods for players to replenish it. Moreover, we recognize that the current performance of health is lacking and we plan to address this gradually throughout the first year of updates, rather than implementing a single all-encompassing change.

SKILLS

To ensure a better player experience, the use of the Manipulator Basic Skill will no longer interrupt multiple consecutive interactions.

“Battering Ram” skill can no longer be used to open blue keycard door on “Rock the Cradle”

Editor's P/S

As a hard fan of the Payday series, I was eagerly anticipating the release of Payday 3. However, my excitement was quickly dampened by the game's rocky launch. The game was plagued with numerous bugs and technical issues, which left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.

However, the recent release of Patch 1.0.1 has given me hope that the developers are committed to improving the game. This patch addresses many of the issues that I had with the game, and it has made it a much more enjoyable experience. I am particularly pleased with the fixes to the game's progression system, which was one of my biggest complaints.

Overall, I am still disappointed with the launch of Payday 3, but I am hopeful that the developers will continue to improve the game with future patches and updates. I believe that Payday 3 has the potential to be a great game, and I am excited to see what the future holds for it.
