Paige DeSorbo fully supports Captain Lee Rosbach's opinions on Summer House.
In an interview exclusively with We at BravoCon on November 4th, Paige, 30, shared her thoughts on Lee's theory regarding Kyle Cooke's role in the breakup between Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard.
"Absolutely not," Paige firmly denied, refuting any validity in Lee's hypothesis. She found Captain Lee's comment incredibly amusing and absurdly inaccurate, making it one of the most memorable moments of her week. Paige couldn't help but be entertained by the remark, but she also found it completely unfounded and unjustifiable.
In the lead-up to BravoCon in Las Vegas, Captain Lee, 73, shared his views on why he believed Kyle, 41, should bear some responsibility for the failed engagement of Carl and Lindsay.
In the November 1 episode of his "Salty With Captain Lee" podcast, the Below Deck alum expressed his annoyance towards a particular person in the situation, namely Kyle. He believes that Kyle played a part in the issue to some extent. Captain Lee raised concerns about how Kyle spoke about Lindsay during her relationship with his best friend on Summer House. Referring to a scene from season 7, the captain mentioned the night when Kyle became heavily intoxicated and hurled various derogatory comments towards Lindsay in front of Carl. Despite the provocation, Carl remained calm and did not retaliate, although he had every right to do so.
Carl, aged 38, and Lindsay, who became engaged in August 2022, had plans to get married in Mexico this month. The wedding preparations of their upcoming season 8 on Summer House were initially included, but Carl informed the producers about their impending breakup.
Following the highly publicized split of Carl and Lindsay, Bravo fans were shocked when Kyle expressed his lack of surprise.
"It's a challenging subject, but I remained supportive despite noticing the flaws in their relationship. So, I wasn't taken aback considering what I knew," he remarked during his appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on October 24. "Cancelling a wedding is probably more difficult than proposing, which is why I never thought it would actually occur, as it's a drastic decision. It reflects the current state of things." Kyle reminisced about witnessing Carl and Lindsay's rollercoaster ride firsthand while filming season 8.
Carl's unawareness of his decision to call off the conversation became apparent during the actual conversation itself, in my opinion. I wasn't aware of this outcome until afterwards, as it unfolded in the heat of the moment," he conveyed. "I truly hope that they can continue to share a summer house, as it would be unfortunate for our time together to abruptly end."
In response, Lee vehemently criticized Kyle's perspective on the matter, expressing on Wednesday, "And now Kyle comes forward and claims that he could see the flaws in their relationship. Wake up, Kyle, you were a part of those flaws. You're supposed to be Carl's closest friend, yet all you do whenever you interact with Carl is speak negatively about Lindsay. Is that what friends do?"
Lee expressed empathy for both individuals and emphasized the importance of acknowledging one's lack of knowledge instead of speculating, as words hold significant influence. Lee also wondered about the unlikely friendship between Kyle and Carl. On the other hand, Paige holds a contrary opinion regarding Lee's evaluation of Kyle.
"Carl confides in his best friend and receives the type of advice one would expect from a best friend. In other words, it's just like how I talk to Amanda, Kyle Cooke's wife," she explained to Us on Saturday. "If Kyle had the power to influence a couple to break up, then that couple probably wasn't strong from the start. I don't believe that's true at all."
Paige revealed that Summer House viewers will witness the events that led to Carl's decision to end the relationship. She added, "Of course, this happened two months ago. You'll see all the details as usual. You'll witness the dynamics between the couples and how everyone interacts with each other. You'll get the complete story."
