One Piece: Ranking the Most Powerful Straw Hat Pirates

After years of debate, it has finally been settled who holds the top spot among Luffy's crew. The Straw Hat Pirates, known as one of the most infamous pirate groups in the One Piece series, have made significant progress since their introduction in 1997.

As a pirate, strength is a key attribute for most crew members, with two members of the Worst Generation, a prince of the Germa Kingdom, a former Warlord, and multiple Devil Fruit users among them. Yet, there will always be varying levels of strength within the crew.

One Piece fans have finally settled the debate on which Straw Hat Pirate is the strongest. Let's find out who holds the title.

Thanks to Goo Rankings, the largest ranking site in Japan, fans of One Piece had the opportunity to vote for the strongest Straw Hat pirate. Here are the results.

At number 10 is the sniper Usopp.

Usopp, often deemed the "weakest" of the Straw Hats, has been referred to as such by Oda himself, who has expressed a desire for Usopp to maintain that status as the only crew member closest to a regular human. Despite this, Usopp has proven himself to be a formidable warrior, earning a bounty of 500 million Berries over the course of the series.

Next up is Nami.

She is an indispensable member of the Straw Hat crew and will be remembered as one of the greatest pirates in the world of One Piece due to her expertise in navigation. Over the years, we have witnessed Nami excel in one-on-one combat and bravely face some of the strongest members of rival pirate crews, aided by the Homie Zeus created by Big Mom. Despite being unable to match Monkey D. Luffy and his Devil Fruit Powers, she remains a formidable pirate in her own regard.

For 50 years, One Piece’s Soul King Brook survived the Florian Triangle on his own after the death of his crew.

Thanks to the powers of his Revive-Revive Fruit, this carefree skeleton has been given a new lease on life, along with the ability to resist diseases and wield a range of soul-related powers. Coupled with his expertise in swordplay, impressive speed, and musical abilities, Brook is more than capable of facing off against powerful adversaries.

7. Tony Tony Chopper

Up next is the lovable reindeer, Tony Tony Chopper, a member of the least formidable crewmate quartet.

As a Devil Fruit user, Chopper is a unique combination of reindeer and human, giving him an edge in maritime combat compared to regular reindeer - although he's unlikely to engage in any traditional antler-locking contests.

His vast medical knowledge means that he’s one of the most valuable members of the Straw Hat Pirates crew, even if he isn’t one of the strongest.

Hito Hito no Mi Devil Fruit, physical transformation, multi-species communication, medical knowledge

Accomplishments:

Liberated Drum Island, saved the lives of his crew multiple times, and went toe-to-toe in combat against Queen The Plague.

Now onto the more formidable members of the crew. "Iron Man" Franky has proven himself in battle unlike the previous three. With additional endurance from his metallic body, this cyborg has the skill to serve as a shipwright. Despite the Vegapunk-inspired weapons in his body allowing him to compete with strong opponents, he is not indestructible.

Former Warlord of the sea and ex-captain of the Sun Pirates, Jinbe, should probably be ranked higher on this list. Surprisingly, the Knight of the Sea only takes the fifth spot.

With his exceptional physical strength, Jinbe has consistently stood up to the Yonkos and their commanders. He has proven to be almost unrivaled in his resistance against Big Mom's Conqueror's Haki and survived an encounter with Admiral Akainu. Jinbe's remarkable abilities have earned him a bounty of One Billion Berry, solidifying his place as one of the strongest members of the Straw Hats.

Originally introduced as an antagonist in One Piece, Nico Robin, also known as the Devil Child, eventually became a member of the crew and is now recognized as one of the most formidable pirates on the Grand Line. Utilizing her Flower-Flower Fruit abilities, she has the capability to immobilize her enemies before they can even react, instilling fear in those who oppose her.

Following a recent power-up during the Wano arc, Nico Robin has risen to become one of the most powerful pirates in the One Piece universe.

Flower-Flower Fruit abilities, high intelligence, Armament Haki, martial arts

Accomplishments:

Defeated Black Moria, survived the persecution of the World Government, translated Poneglyphs

3. Sanji

Next up is Prince of the diabolical Germa Kingdom, Black Leg Sanji.

Sanji, a young member of the Straw Hats, wields both Armament and Observation Haki, giving him the power to take down strong opponents. Despite this, he also boasts a bounty of over One Billion Berries, a significant achievement for any pirate.

Roronoa Zoro, a master of the Three-Sword style, is determined to become one of the world's greatest swordsmen. His numerous victorious battles throughout the many episodes of One Piece prove that he is well on his way to achieving this goal. Like Sanji, Zoro is classified by the World Government as a member of the Worst Generation and has a bounty of over One Billion Berries on his head. It's no surprise that he ranks as number two on the list of the strongest Straw Hats, as he consistently rises to every challenge.

And finally, to no one’s surprise, at number one on our list is the leader of the straw hats, Monkey D. Luffy.

With a bounty of Three Billion Berries, he is not only one of the most notorious pirates in the history of One Piece, but also one of the most formidable. It's hard to believe, considering his cheerful demeanor.

From defeating Doflamingo to unlocking his Advanced Conqueror's Haki, Luffy has proven to be far more than just the user of the Gum-Gum Fruit. His abilities grant him immunity to electric attacks and blunt force trauma, but he remains susceptible to sharp objects such as swords and spears.

Accomplishments:

Overall leader of the Straw Hat Pirates, defeated one Yonko and four Warlords of the Sea, liberated countless islands
