At a listening party for Kanye West's new album, Vultures, in Miami on Tuesday, December 12, the rapper's daughter North surprised everyone by debuting her own verse. The 10-year-old confidently rapped, "I love it here, we gonna take over the year for another year, it’s your bestie, Miss Miss Westie, don’t try to test me, it’s gonna get messy, it’s gonna get messy, just bless me."
Ty Dolla $ign, Kodak Black, Freddie Gibbs, Chris Brown, and Offset were also in attendance at the Miami event with West.
The eldest child of West, 46, and Kim Kardashian has frequently expressed her adoration for her father's music, making her debut performance with him at his Yeezy show during Paris Fashion Week in March 2020. More recently, Kardashian, 43, shared a video to their joint TikTok account where they lip-synced to West's track "Bound 2."
The former couple shares four children: North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 5, and Psalm, 4. West and Kardashian ended their nearly seven-year marriage in February 2021. Following the finalization of their divorce in November 2022, the reality star openly discussed the challenges of coparenting with West on the "Angie Martinez IRL" podcast. She expressed the difficulty of coparenting and the desire for her children to have the same positive experiences she had with her own father.
In a November episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, Kardashian shared more insight, including how North has chosen favorites when it comes to her parents.
Kim and Kourtney Kardashian revealed in a joint statement that North West often prefers her father's lifestyle over theirs, expressing her desire for a simpler, apartment-living experience without the extravagances of a nanny, chef, and security.
Kourtney, who is 44, shared her thoughts on parenting based on her experiences with her children Mason, 13, Penelope, 11, and Reign, 8, whom she shares with her ex Scott Disick. (The Posh founder welcomed son Rocky with her husband Travis Barker in November.)
"They do the same thing at Scott's house. They say, 'Dad has the best house. Your house is terrible. His house is the best, even though it's not super big. The vibes are better,'" Kourtney remarked. "I believe that everything depends on the parent who is more involved."
In response, Kim mocked the reason why her children have openly preferred their father. “They can cook for themselves. It’s impressive that you can make Ramen,” she joked, to which Kourtney added, “You just boil water and pour it over some noodles.”

In a different episode, Kim shared her experience of trying to find a caregiver for her children. "I decided to hire a male nanny because I wanted a male presence to pick them up and take them to sports," she explained in an episode from October. "I was really nervous about telling their dad."
Kim further stated that when Kanye was dropping off the kids, he took the time to introduce himself and engage in a game of soccer with Saint, showing kindness and consideration towards him. Kanye also expressed his expectations for the nanny, instructing her to not make things too easy for Saint and to enforce certain rules.
