The return of Bob Odenkirk's ruthless fixer in Nobody 2 is eagerly anticipated, with updates on release dates, the cast, plot speculation, and more. Ilya Naishuller made a name for himself in the action scene with Hardcore Henry in 2015, but it was Nobody in 2021 that truly thrilled fans of the genre.
Teaming up with the stunt team 87/Eleven and franchise co-director David Leitch, Nobody introduced audiences to a more lethal side of Bob Odenkirk.
The upcoming sequel, Nobody 2, will once again immerse us in the world of assassination. Here's what we know about the highly anticipated follow-up so far.
Is there a Nobody 2 release date?
Nobody 2 doesn’t have a release date – but at the earliest, it’ll be out in 2025.
In a recent interview with Collider, producer Kelly McCormick announced the intention to begin production on Nobody 2 in 2023. McCormick expressed the importance of not just creating a sequel for the sake of it, but rather focusing on delivering a great sequel. The goal is to ensure that the sequel is done right, and if successful, there is hope for progress in the coming year.
The movie's progress was hindered by the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes last year, but Connie Nielsen assures that it is still being worked on. David Leitch also confirmed that Nobody 2 is currently in the early stages of development and the scriptwriting process is still underway.
Leitch told Collider that he had a great time filming, the actors enjoyed themselves, the studio was thrilled with the results, and a sequel is in the works.
"I think we all want to revisit that universe and see Bob revive that character," Leitch said.
Leitch also stated to The Hollywood Reporter: "I believe that film will come to fruition. The determination exists from Bob, the studio, the producers, Derek Kolstad and us. Therefore, we are actively developing it, and I would certainly place your bet on it."
Nobody 2 cast: Who will be in it?
The casting for Nobody 2 is still being finalized, but it is anticipated that Bob Odenkirk will return as Hutch Mansell and Connie Nielsen will reprise her role as Becca, his wife from Better Call Saul. Additionally, there is a possibility that Christopher Lloyd and RZA will return as Hutch's father and brother, David and Harry Mansell.
With the aftermath of the 2021 sleeper hit likely drawing the attention of the Russian Mob and leaving a vacant villain spot formerly occupied by Aleksei Serebryakov, we can expect someone new to step into the role.
Is there a Nobody 2 trailer?
There isn’t a trailer for Nobody 2 yet, but we’ll share it here as soon as it appears online.
In the meantime, revisit the first film’s incredible bus fight below:
Nobody 2 plot: What will it be about?
As the production for Nobody 2 gains momentum, we are eagerly anticipating the release of official plot details. Although the confirmation of Nobody 2 by David Leitch is pending, Bob Odenkirk disclosed to Empire in February that the storyline for the sequel has already been developed.
Odenkirk shared, "Universal has been very positive and welcoming. Derek and I have been discussing the story. It's not confirmed yet, but we are making progress. I believe it's looking promising." Fans of John Wick will be familiar with Derek Kolstad, who wrote the scripts for the first three movies in the Keanu Reeves-led series.
Will Nobody 2 crossover with John Wick?
Both Nobody and the John Wick franchise are the brainchild of David Leitch and make use of his skilled stunt team, 87/Eleven. The parallels between the two series are evident, with both Hutch and Wick navigating the murky realms of assassination driven by enigmatic currency, morality, and authority.
Hutch's world may be more down-to-earth compared to the excitingly chaotic world of Wick, but that hasn't stopped filmmakers and fans from speculating about the possibility of a crossover. According to Ilya Naishuller, director of "Nobody," he loves it when people ask if it's the same universe.
Naishuller suggested, "Instead of saying anything, consider which studio created which movie and think about the possibility of a crossover." He also mentioned, "Anything is possible. Stranger things have definitely occurred."

Editor's P/S
As a dedicated fan of the action genre, I am thrilled about the upcoming sequel to Nobody, titled Nobody 2. The first movie, released in 2021, took me by surprise with its intense action sequences and Bob Odenkirk's exceptional performance as a ruthless fixer. The news of a sequel has me eagerly anticipating the return of Hutch Mansell and his lethal skills.
The fact that the producers are taking their time to ensure a great sequel rather than rushing it out for the sake of it fills me with confidence. The involvement of the stunt team 87/Eleven and franchise co-director David Leitch, who also worked on the John Wick series, further elevates my expectations. The possibility of a crossover between Nobody 2 and John Wick is an exciting prospect that would undoubtedly delight fans of both franchises.
