Bob Odenkirk recently spoke about his experience working on The Bear season 2's Christmas episode. He compared it to his time on Better Call Saul and described it as his "greatest experience since" the show. The episode featured a star-studded cast, including Jamie Lee Curtis, Sarah Paulson, John Mulaney, Gillian Jacobs, and Jon Bernthal.
During an interview with Deadline, Odenkirk discussed his role as Uncle Lee in the Christmas episode and praised creator Christopher Storer for allowing creative freedom on set. He specifically highlighted Jeremy Allen White's performance as Carmy Berzatto for setting the tone. Odenkirk expressed his gratitude for being a part of the show and the enjoyable experience he had working with the entire cast.
Will Bob Odenkirk Return In The Bear Season 3?
The atmosphere on set was electric with excitement and determination. All the participants were motivated to give it their all and have a great time. A strong sense of mutual respect permeated the space, as each actor genuinely revered the others. Chris Storer, the creative force behind it all, fostered an environment of creativity and exploration, allowing everyone to bring their ideas to life. Jeremy Allen White, in particular, exemplified professionalism and cultivated an atmosphere of mutual respect among the cast. It was incredible to witness everyone's eagerness to support and elevate one another. Our biggest aspiration was for every person in each scene to shine brilliantly. Working together was an absolute delight.
With only a few roles under his belt after its conclusion, including the AMC drama Lucky Hank, Odenkirk's proclamation of The Bear as his most remarkable experience since Better Call Saul speaks volumes about its exceptional quality. The Christmas episode of season 2, in particular, has received acclaim as one of the finest television hours of the year. Odenkirk's remarks also hint at his willingness to make a comeback for The Bear season 3, which has yet to receive an official renewal from FX/Hulu. However, considering the show's heightened viewership from season 1, it appears highly likely.
The Bear may have alluded to Odenkirk's return in season 3. In the season 2 premiere, when Carmy, Sydney, and Sugar persuade Uncle Jimmy to invest in the improved restaurant, he discloses that the initials "KBL" on Mikey's cash-filled tomato cans represent himself – Kalinowski, Berzatto, and Uncle Lee. This implies that Uncle Lee had previously loaned money to Mikey for the restaurant, and it is possible that Odenkirk's character will reappear in The Bear season 3 to collect the debts or demand a share of the profits.
