Nicole Eggert Shares How Her Daughters Supported Her During Breast Cancer Treatment

Exclusive interview with Nicole Eggert as she opens up about how her daughters, Keegan and Dilyn, have been a source of strength and support during her battle with breast cancer.

Nicole Eggert's daughters, Dilyn, 25, and Keegan, 12, have been her biggest support system during her battle with breast cancer.

"They are like my rocks," Eggert, 52, said in an interview with We. "They have been incredibly supportive throughout this challenging journey because it's all so new to me."

Despite her worries, Eggert found comfort in her children's support during her cancer diagnosis. She initially feared how her youngest, Keegan, would react to her bald head from treatment. However, she was pleasantly surprised by Keegan's pride and support. The children have been by her side, showing grace, checking on her constantly, and showering her with love.

In January, the Baywatch alum shared her stage 2 cribriform carcinoma diagnosis, revealing that she had experienced severe pain in her left breast in October 2023.

Eggert recently shaved her head on camera with the assistance of Keegan and shared the touching video on Instagram earlier this month. She included a quote in the caption that resonated with her: “Maybe healing involves not so much changing ourselves but allowing ourselves to be who we are – Madeleine Eames.”

She had always been curious about shaving her head, as Eggert revealed in an interview with Us. Initially hesitant, she eventually embraced it as part of her journey with cancer. Eggert explained, “When I finally shaved my head, I was relieved to be rid of the hair. It had been bothering me with the constant loss, and it was such a hassle to manage. So, getting rid of it was actually a relief.”

During her breast cancer treatment, Eggert shared with Us that she has learned the importance of asking for help and being open. She emphasized that it's okay to not do everything on your own.

Eggert also mentioned that she doesn't feel embarrassed when people figure out her cancer diagnosis by seeing her bald head. She explained that it actually brings a sense of comfort to everyone involved, as there are no awkward moments and people feel free to talk about it, ask questions, or say anything. This comfortability is important to her.

Eggert believes it is crucial to share her cancer journey with the public. She wants to normalize the experience since many people are affected by it in some way. However, she also emphasizes the need to find a cure for cancer. Keeping it a secret can be isolating and depressing, so she chooses to be open about her journey.

Nicole Eggert, the host of the "Perfectly Twisted" podcast, is currently urging both women and men to do self-exams and visit a doctor to detect early signs of cancer. She admits that she did not regularly perform self-exams before her diagnosis.

"I did a self-exam and discovered a mass, a lump that I could clearly feel. It was devastating because it was right there, and I could have detected it sooner. My body let me know it was there, and I had to pay attention to the signs," she shared.
